Tata has been on a roll lately. The Tata Harrier has made a dent in the segment and is now slowly picking up the pace in sales even though the market is going through a tough phase. So what will the H4 be? To understand the Tata H4 we must first understand what the SUV line-up Tata is aiming for is. At the bottom, there will be the Tata Tiago NRG hatchback crossover, above it will be the Tata H2X which will rival the likes of the Mahinda KUV100, above that there is the C-SUV or the compact SUV – Tata Nexon, above which will be the Creta sized Tata H4, this is preceded by the Tata Harrier and the 7-seater Buzzard. This versatile and price differentiating line-up is what Tata currently aspires to achieve.

Tata also plans to enter the full-size SUV market in the years to come with a Fortuner, Alturas G4 rivaling, 7-seater SUV. This major SUV line-up is going to make Tata a force to reckon with in our market.

Tata H4 Platform

Tata currently has the Alfa and Omega platforms. The Omega platform currently in its smallest form measures up to 4.3 meters. The H4 will be more likely shorter than that. So the Alfa platform or the platform of the Chinese Cherry brand will be used.  Cherry is a Chinese company that has been looking to enter the Indian market for a while now. In fact, in 2013 the brand was going to come with Tata to India. In China, Cherry is the JV partner for Land Rover and will be favored when it comes to making a Creta rivaling SUV

Tata H4 Launch

The H4 is still in its R&D and development stages. The car will be launched in 2021. We could see the launch not happening before that. The car’s platform is also still being decided and if the Alfa platform will be confirmed or if the Cherry SUV’s platform will be used. The platform will be decided for the H4 by the end of the year

Tata H4 Price in India

The H4 will be priced under the Tata Harrier and this will mean it will be cheaper than the Hyundai Creta which will be coming soon in 2020 in its a new-generation avatar.

Tata H4 Name

The name for this car is not confirmed yet. There is a rumor that the car will be called the Blackbird but that’s unlikely. ‘H4’ is the car’s current codename like the earlier models of Tata had – H5X, 45X and the H7X. This name of the car seem a bit off from the TATA line up. Therefore there are a large number of chances of the car to have a name that it can use in the indian market along with making a global product.

2021 Tata H4 Design

We will see a lot of similarities in this car when it comes to design with the Tata Harrier and the Tata Nexon but there might be some design cues that will be taken from the Tiggo SUV from Cherry. The car will get the dispersed cluster look that has come on the Harrier. It will also get LED projector headlamps, panoramic sunroof, LED taillamps and diamond cut alloy wheels.
