The new Hyundai Creta 2020 is coming next year to India and will be a feature-loaded product. The Hyundai Creta was launched back in 2015 and the new car will lead the way for the company’s new design tenet – Sensuous Sportiness. When launched four years back the car created it’s own segment niche and has ever since been a customer favorite. But with a lot of new cars like the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks and the Mahindra XUV500 coming in the Creta is now not alone and has to fight for its relevance with a much needed new-generation version coming in.

While the car has been seen at the Shanghai Motor Show and China, the vehicle has been spotted testing in India too. The car could be teased by the end of the year and will then be launched around the 2020 Auto Expo. This will make the upcoming Hyundai Creta one of the most important cars launched at the 2020 Auto Expo. We have also learned more about the specs, features and dimensions on the new Creta. Hyundai Creta 2020 Price

The vehicle has been started to be sold in China. The car that has been spotted in the Chinese markets is very similar to the vehicle that will succeed in the current generation of the Creta.

The price of the new Hyundai Creta will more or less remain the same. There will be a slight increase in price due to the incoming BS6 norms. The Creta will now get only 2 engine options, the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. This is the same engine that is used in the new Kia Seltos and is BS6 ready. The India based mode of the 2020 Creta sports a new design for the allow wheels. It also has a panoramic Sunroof. On the inside, it has new unique seat textures. To rival the Kia Seltos and MG Hector it is also expected to get connected cars. In this case, it will be BlueLink. The Hyundai Creta is a vehicle that has received a good response from the audience. The vehicle’s facelift is also expected to create the same waves with its futuristic design and features.

Centre Console

The centre console of the upcoming Creta takes some inspiration from Tesla. There is a large vertical waterfall design for the centre console. The basic thing that this does is that it gives the vehicle a modern touch. This also eliminates the individual switches for air conditioning and other controls. The waterfall display gives more space for information to be displayed. It also looks visually appealing. The centre console also gets a piano black finish which makes it look one piece with the screen.

Bluelink

The Blue Link connectivity will make its entrance in other Hyundai cars starting from the new Creta. The Bluelink allows people to start their car remotely and get climate control started. This also allows the person to remotely lock and unlock the vehicle. This also gives much ease of access features which makes driving a Hyundai easy. For now, Hyundai is offering it complementary with their Hyundai Venue.

BS6 Compliant Engine

The BS6 norms in India have made it compulsory for the carmakers to bring in new engines. It is expected that the Hyundai Creta will get a BS6 compliant 1.5 litre engines. This engine will be available in both petrol and diesel engine. The engine will be mated to a manual or a CVT gearbox.

Dimensions

On comparing the dimensions of the old and the new Creta, there is not a noticeable difference in the dimensions of the vehicle. The wheelbase has increased considerably but the rest of the parameters have changed within 100 metres.

Lights Setup

Hyundai has taken a very modern approach toward the light on this vehicle. They have made sure that the vehicle looks futuristic. This has been cleverly done by placing a thin strip of the LED daytime running lights in line with the hood slit. The main headlamps have been placed at the level of the grill. This gives the vehicle that “From the Future look”. The elements inside the vehicle have also been aligned with each other so that the whole set up looks like a single piece encased within the body.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Launch

The car will be launched in the first half of next year. Hyundai will want to first show it at the 2020 Auto Expo too. There is a possibility that the car is officially shown to us by the end of the year and then launched at the Auto Expo next year. This will be a good and bold move by Hyundai. After China, we could become the next market for the Creta. The Hyundai Creta is the manufacturers most important UV and after the Santro, i20 and Verna, the most important vehicle they have in this market.

A good bet would be that we will see the product at the Auto Expo and there will be an official launch subsequently.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Interior

The interior will get a thorough shake-up too. The layout of many things will change. The layout of the center console, steering wheel buttons, gear selector and much more will change. We can expect more storage spaces in this bigger new car. The interior will receive new color options because the silver and beige combination on the current Creta looks dull and Hyundai will consider adding some better options and replacing it on the Hyundai Creta. The seats too will receive an update with fabric and leather options.

This Creta already comes with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. We also expect the new BlueLink system to be added to this car and if the below images are to be believed, like the MG Hector, the Creta too will get a huge 10-inch plus touchscreen which will be integrated in a waterfall design in the center console. The new touch screen panel looks like a tablet integrated into the centre console. The Creta will get some more unique features that will could segment firsts.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta has now been spotted in India for the first time. It was being tested on the Guindy road in Chennai. The vehicle is based on the Hyundai global ix25. It has integrated roof rails, ORVMs with turn signals and silver 5-spoke alloy wheels. It is likely to get a new grille flanked by trapezoidal headlamps that have L-shaped LED daytime running lights. Hyundai might offer the new model in 5-seat and 7-seat configurations.

New Hyundai Creta 2020 Specifications

The new Hyundai Creta will not have 3 engine options as before. With BS6 norms kicking in the new car will get 2 new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, both of which will produce 115bhp. The 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engines will be discontinued. It will be interesting to see what diesel engines does Hyundai then offer on the Verna and the i20 which also use these engines. These new 1.5-litre will come with a manual and automatic gearbox options from launch.

Dimensions, size, and most exterior elements will increase. Weight will come down. Looking at the ix25 design, the Creta will be a great looking car. It also looks like Hyundai is going for the blown up headlamp configuration like the Hector and the Harrier. Weirdly, the car we see here looks very close to the production version with its door handles. The diamond-cut alloy wheels with 18-inch tyres look very attractive. The tailgate of the car also look s very different from the existing one, therefore it gives it a modern feel. Along with that, the car will get the new design of the Hyundai Venue on the frontend.

The design of the Hyundai Creta is also more focussed on the Chinese markets where the brand has made more in-roads. The car is now more in tune with the design of the rest of the Hyundai group line-up. We have seen the same design ideology in the Hyundai Venue. Below is a spy shot of the rear of the car. The car looks great with black accents and split taillamp design. The rear bumper is going to get a false scuff plate-like look with the rear fog lamp integrated into it. The black accents on the sides of the rear windshield look nice and give the car a premium touch.

Overall, this car is not only bigger but looks fresher than before. The Hyundai Creta 2020 has now got a cult following in India. The looks of this car resemble the Hyundai Venue a lot and if that is the design inspiration for this car, the look has been executed well.

Hyundai Creta 2020 Mileage

When it comes to mileage, the Creta diesel will return 18km/l in the city to 22km/l on the highway. The petrol will do 12km/l in the city to 15km/l on the highway. (all ARAI figures). The Creta has always been frugal considering its size and engine.
