Bajaj Pulsar 250 in the making

Bajaj Pulsar 250 will be making its way into the Indian bike market. Based on the Duke family engine, the new Bajaj engine will come to life as well. Bajaj has been aggressive with the Pulsar range as it did introduce multiple engine options on it.

The new-generation bike in the making will be based on an all new platform. This will mean that Bajaj is looking at adding a lot of more performance, better riding dynamics and even further improvements in all other areas which are good too.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 Launch Date

One of the new engines that will come in, shall be the 250cc. At the moment, the company has 220cc as the biggest option on offer. There will be a new 250cc as well this time. KTM Duke 250 will be used as the base for this engine most likely. The new Bajaj Pulsar chassis will be made available in the Indian bike market soon. Our expectation is that this new bike in its latest avatar will come in by late 2019. The 250cc engine might be made available a tad later. 

Bajaj Pulsar 250 Price in India

With there already being a 200cc, 220cc, Bajaj will have to ensure it cannot eat into that segment, rather overlap. On the other hand, the company cannot even overlap with the Dominar 400. So, we can expect the price to be somewhere about Rs 1.25 lakhs to Rs 1.5 lakhs. This new bike will be an exciting offering for the Indian market. It will be cheaper than the Duke 250 for certain and shall even come with ABS.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 Design

In terms of styling, there will be not a lot of difference in design when compared to the other new-generation Pulsars. There shall be daytime running LED, LED headlamp and even LED indicators. The fuel tank should be about 15 litres and will be aggressive in styling. As the new Pulsar in 250cc will be naked only. Expect 18-inch wheels, alloys and tubeless tyres of course.

Bajaj has been doing well in the 160-200cc segment already. Now the company needs to enhance  the advancement in the 250cc segment as well. The instrument cluster will be digital and it will offer tachometer and the speedometer. Everything is expected to be digital. This is the same platform that we expect Bajaj to use for the electric bike as well. The tail lamps will be LEDs too.

There shall be tyre hugger and large exhaust pipe also. We even expect split seats as well.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 Engine

The new 250cc engine that will be a Bajaj. This will have about 22bhp of power and it will come with six-speed transmission.

This will make it a powerful offering in its segment. There is more than sufficient torque in this engine and with Bajaj’s DTSi technology, we can expect better performance and even mileage as well. Bajaj new bikes have soft clutch and very smooth shifting gears. The same is expected on this bike as well.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 Competition

The 250cc segment has been heating up. The new Pulsar 250 will go up against the Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZ25, Duke 250 and even the Honda CBR 250. There is also the TVS Apache RR 310, but that will be a full-fairing bike.
