The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is coming soon. And when we mean soon, it’s launching this week. We are going to bring you all the news on that as soon as it comes. The car is an all new generation model which will be built on the companies Hearteck platform. It will be bigger and more space efficient too. The new car will be wider and longer too. The car will come with the old 1.3-litre diesel engine and a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. But you already know this. The bigger question which this headline also states, will there be factory fitted CNG. The Ertiga has always been a great car for the private taxi segment in India. Many customers are known to put carriers on their cars to free-up space for a CNG tank. The 2018 Maruti Ertiga CNG variant will come with only the petrol variant. But since the new petrol variant is getting a hybrid SHVS system. To known more, scroll down now.

2018 Maruti Ertiga CNG Launch

The 2018 Maruti Ertiga CNG will be launched in the next week only. If Maruti will have a variant of this car in its line-up for the Ertiga, it will be revealed during the launch. This is a highly unlikely launch that will happen. We are assuming that since it is an important, all-new Maruti, they will decide to cater to a market space which wants factory fitted CNG in their cars. Hyundai made it a point to get the Santro with CNG in India.

The CNG option will not be available with the top variant of the Ertiga. It will be available with the mid-range of the line up in to variants. It will be interesting to see if the petrol version without the SHVS system is debuted with an option of CNG. The CNG variants of the car will be under Rs 10 lakhs (EX-showroom).

The car will be made with a great amount of new additions. On the exterior, it will be a wider and more longer car. This is because it is built on the new HEARTECK platform by Suzuki. The front gets a new grille, new projector headlamps and a new DRLs. The cab-forward design for the hood is still maintained. The CNG variant with the factory fitted option will also bot require the hood to be opened and will have a CNG filling point next to the fuel filling nozzle. The side of the car has a larger and more pronounced lines. The car will have bigger doors too. The headroom on the inside will increase too. There is a much larger and better luggage area too. It will be there where the CNG tank will be installed and there should be some room left to spare for luggage after that. The car will get new tail-lights and a completely revised bumper too. On the inside there will be new upholstery and a new dashboard. The infotainment system will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will have automatic climate control and a revised yet familiar instrument cluster. The 2018 Maruti Ertiga CNG will be an overall bigger car with more space and storage, traits that made it a good seller in the first place.

2018 Maruti Ertiga CNG Specification

There will be a diesel and petrol engine offered with the Maruti Ertiga. But for the CNG, there will be only a manual option with a petrol engine. No diesel, no AMT. Much like the Santro recently. The AMT option will not be offered on the Ertiga. The Ertiga CNG will be made available with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine that will be paired to a new six-speed manual transmission. The car will be strictly sold as a manual. The problem of coarse remains that the car might not be offered with CNG as the SHVS system comes in place with batteries. We are hoping that Maruti gives us a 2018 Maruti Ertiga CNG as there is a popular demand for this car.
