Mahindra Reva had launched the e2O, its new electric car replacing the other electric Reva cars. However, now the brand is looking at introducing another variant of the Reva. The Reva e2O at the moment is sold with the T2 and T2O variants however some of the critics were not happy with this, as the price of the Reva was a lot higher than other petrol-powered hatchbacks.

The Reva e2O is likely to get a new variant, which will be the P2. This is likely to have better power storage capacity. The currently sold Reva costs about Rs 8 lakhs (on-road) and has a range of about 100 kilometres. The P2 is likely to get even better range than the existing e2O.

Mahindra plans to launch three new products (two SUVs and one SCV), three facelifts and three new variants in the first nine months of FY16. The company is also developing six new engines along with Ssangyong, three of these engines are petrol (1.0-litre turbo, 1.2-litre and 1.6-litre), while the other three are diesel (1.2-litre diesel, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre diesel). The three facelifts will be the XUV500, Thar and the Quanto. The XUV500 will come with an automatic transmission and the Quanto will get the AMT (automated manual transmission). Both the new SUVs will be produced in the company’s new Chakan plant, which is undergoing expansion at the moment. The company’s sales have shrunk lately as it lacks a strong contender in the compact SUV segment, which will soon be achieved.
