2019 Ford Figo CNG: CNG variant spied testing

The new Ford Figo 2019 facelift is likely to come by the end of this year. Just like the Aspire facelift expected soon, the Figo will also get some styling updates and a new heart. There will be more features also offers this time. The latest thing that we will see is the 2019 Ford Figo CNG. There have been a couple of spy shots of the new Figo being tested with a CNG kit.

Until now, CNG was primarily available in Delhi and parts of Maharashtra. With the CNG filling station network expected to expand in the country soon, more carmakers will offer CNG option in their petrol-powered vehicles. At present, Maruti Suzuki and Tata offer factory-fitted CNG vehicles in India. The upcoming  Hyundai Santro will also be the first Hyundai to be CNG fitted from the factory. So Ford climbing the CNG bandwagon is not a surprising move.

2019 Ford Figo CNG Launch

The CNG variant of the Figo will be launched subsequently after the launch of the normal car. This variant will be mostly aimed at metros and not smaller towns. We will update you more as the launch comes closer.

2019 Ford Figo CNG Price

The regular car starts at around ₹ 5.4 lakhs. The CNG car with a company fitted kit will be much higher. It should be around ₹ 6 lakhs. The 2019 Ford Figo CNG will be a great value for money choice when one considers the long term benefits of frugality of petrol consumption and the low price of CNG.

The car will get great mileage. CNG cars tend to get great mileage. The CNG will return 16 km/kg in the city to 18km/kg on the highway. The 2019 Ford Figo CNG will be a boon to people using it on the highway for long runs.

2019 Ford Figo CNG Specifications

The new 2019 Ford Figo CNG will be powered by a new 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine. This engine will also power the Aspire. This engine also does duty in the Freestyle. This engine will have a five-speed manual and also a six-speed automatic but for the CNG, there will only be the five-speed manual.

The 1.2-litre has good enough power for city usage. But be ready to witness some drop in power when you switch the button to CNG. The major update is the petrol engine.

2019 Ford Figo CNG Design and Interiors

The car will be not at all different from the regular Figo. The exterior with the updated looks is going to be the same design for the CNG. The car will have a lot of better design cues than the previous car.

The only addition in this scenario is the CNG tank taking up the boot space. That is one downside. The second downside is that while the interiors are not going to differ, the car will not be feature loaded as its petrol powered cousins. This is due to the fact that the 2019 Ford FIgo CNG will only be available in the lower variants. The Figo will miss out on the Titanium and Titanium Plus editions and its feature loaded cabin. The car will get features like reverse parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS and Bluetooth in the infotainment system.

2019 Ford Figo CNG Competition

The CNG version of the Figo will face stiff competition from the factory-fitted CNG cars of Maruti and Tata. The 2019 Ford Figo CNG will be launched along the same time as the Santro CNG which will give it hard competition.

Ford with the CNG car is showing a great initiative towards providing an alternative fuel source. There will be more on this car once it is launched.
