The Ford Ecosport 2017 will be launched this year. Although it is not an all new vehicle, it will get many changes inside out. The Ford Ecosport will look different as well.

The front portion will be all new. The rear will also see few changes. A new 1.5-litre petrol engine will do duty and the dashboard will also carry many changes. The interiors will be refreshed and there will new features offered.

The Ford Ecosport 2017 will get a new front grille that resembles the Endeavour. It now will look like part of the family. This also makes Ecosport look bigger. The grille has two horizontal chrome slats. The new headlamp is more shaper in looks and will also get projectors. A redesigned front bumper and fog lamps add to the new looks of this SUV. The side are rear will not see major changes.

The interiors of the Ford Ecosport 2017  will be new. There is a new centre console, new steering wheel and multiple new features too.

More than features the new cabin feels a lot more upmarket. This is what makes it a good offering. There is a large touchscreen infotainment system which is also a floating top one, similar to the Nexon. It will have navigation, reverse camera and bluetooth connectivity. Underneath that are the AC vents, there is the climate control. An all new three-spoke steering wheel and new instrument cluster too.

The Tata Nexon’s interiors are also all new and have been designed from scratch. The Tata Nexon has a three-spoke steering wheel with controls for audio and voice commands. A new instrument cluster is used on the Nexon and it has twin dials with a driver information system sandwiched in-between. The Nexon will come with features like keyless entry, push start and stop button, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with reverse parking camera, maps, aux, bluetooth and USB connectivity. This music system makes through eight Harman speakers.

Ford Ecosport 2017 vs Tata Nexon Engine

The new Ford Ecosport 2017 will be getting the new Dragon petrol engine. The current 1.5-litre petrol engine will be replaced. The second petrol engine will be the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol. In diesel there is the 1.5-litre diesel with 100bhp of power and 210Nm of torque.

Tata Nexon will be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel one will be a 1.5-litre one that shall churn out 108bhp of power and 260Nm of maximum torque. These are newly developed engines by Tata Motors and the diesel will come with a six-speed manual transmission. The Nexon will come with three driving modes. An AMT will also be on offer. The Nexon will have the most powerful diesel engine on offer.

The Ford Ecosport 2017 1.5 litre diesel should return about 15.5km/l in the city, while on the highway it is about 19km/l.

The new dragon petrol is expected to return around 11 km/l in city and 15 km/l on the highway, while the 1.0 litre will return 13 km/l in the city and 17 km/l on the highway.

This is a tough battle between the two. Both offer petrol and diesel engines and are fun to drive machines. Both are stylish in looks and have good performance too.

Nexon and Ecosport will have closely matched features too. The Nexon will be a tad more comfortable to be driven in whereas the Ecosport is more fun to self-drive. The Nexon marches ahead in terms of interior space and is a proper 5 seater as compared to Ecosport which is good for 4 only.
