2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA coming next year

The Mercedes-Benz GLA was introduced to the world in 2013. Based on the MFA platform, the GLA instantly caught the fancy of buyers and went to to become a success. This compact softroader provided a sporty look with Mercedes finesse and also a high ground clearance. It also looked muscular enough to attract customers. The Mercedes-Benz is now due for a facelift and the upgraded vehicle will be launch by the end of 2016. We take a look at what all upgrades will the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA offer.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA Design

When first launched, the GLA appeared to be a spruced up version of the A-class. The basic shape, headlamps, pillars and fenders were similar. This time the GLA will get new headlamps.  The taillamps will also be replaced by newer and better ones. They will be sleeker than before and will also have better illumination. The 2017 GLA will also get new bumpers at the from and rear. The ducts too will be newly designed. There will be modifications to the front grill as well to be it look more beefy. Apart from this there will not be any major change on the vehicle.  The 2017 Mercedes-GLA will carry all the design traits go the earlier GLA, which includes a long bonnet and sleek rear profile. The GLA 45 AMG will also be offered with a beefed up look and larger alloy wheels wand low profile tyres.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA Interiors

On the inside, there will not be major changes. The basic layout, instrumentation and gadgetry will more or less be the same. Where the 2017 version will see a change is in the upholstery and colour combinations. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA will get new leather uplholstery with unique colours and customization options. The infotainment system with an eight-inch screen will continue. It will also have Apple Car Play and Android Auto smartphone compatibility. Other features like electrically adjustable front seats with memory, navigation, start/stop function, seven airbags, panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting will continue to be offered. The AMG version will have an even more sportier cabin .

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA Engine

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA will continue to offer the same powertrains. However there will be slight performance updates to them. The petrol version will have a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit. This will make a healthy 185bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The diesel will come with a 2.1-litre unit that will have 140bhp of power and 310Nm of torque.

The 2017 GLA 45 AMG will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This will produce 340bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. This high-powered version will continue to be a thrill to drive and also will be offered with an AMG spec body kit and larger alloy wheels.

The transmission option will be the 7G, seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA Price 

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA will be priced at INR 41 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai) for the base model and will go upto INR 95 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai) for the top of the line AMG 45 version.

200 CDI Style (Diesel) – INR 41 lakhs

200 Sport (Petrol) – INR 43 lakhs

200 CDI Sport (Diesel) – INR 45 lakhs

45 AMG (Petrol) – INR 96 lakhs

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA launch date

The 2017 Mercedes Benz GLA will be launch by the end of 2016. This new version will be more exciting to look at and will also offer better performance. The Mercedes GLA will compete with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
