Tata Nexon Design (with AMT)

Based on the new Impact design language, the Nexon is Tata Motors latest compact SUV. This new compact SUV reflects sportiness and style in its design. There is blue, matte white and matte grey colours that are used pre-dominantly. In terms of styling, it looks more like a crossover from the front. The rising belittling and shallow glass area make the Nexon look aggressive.

This compact SUV is one of the most stylish looking SUVs in its segment.

The side profile of the Nexon has a sloping roof and there is a sharp crease that rises with the belt line. The roof line is grey in colour, with the door pillars being black. The matte white colour theme continues on the window panel as well. There is a thick C-pillar and the large 16-inch tyres make it look sporty. The rear windshield is small and there are small tail lamps. The rear bumper even has matte black portions too.

This SUV is under four metres in length. It shares the same platform with the Zest and the Bolt. The Nexon follows Tata Motors’ new Impact design language.

The Nexon with its taller stance, has improved the head room in the cabin and then this compact SUV has good knee room too, for rear passengers as well. Where the it shines is the option of rear AC vents, which isn’t available on most of the competition. There is a slot on the door for umbrellas, this is another strong point for this compact SUV.

The reason why the Nexon shines is because it will have the most powerful diesel engine on offer. Today, the competition is offering about 100bhp of power on the Ford Ecosport and the Mahindra Nuvosport. The Tata Nexon with 110bhp and six-speed manual transmission, will be an even more stronger player.  Tata could be looking at getting a smaller diesel engine option too on the Nexon to make it more affordable and have a good fuel efficiency rating too.
