New Toyota Innova Hycross unveiled!
The Innova has been an iconic MPV in Toyota’s India lineup. It has been known for its space and diesel engine. Over the years, Toyota has kept the car well-updated. But now Toyota is giving Innova its biggest update. We have been covering this regularly, and now Toyota has unveiled the car in Indonesia. Design
The new Toyota Innova Hycross get a very aggressive front look. Its front design bears some resemblance to the Hilux and RAV4. The headlamp design seems to be an extension of the Current Innova. What about the side profile? The side profile is neat with no cuts or creases. In the C-pillar, we can see the MPV-like styling of the current Innova. At the rear, we have pearl-shaped headlamps with a sloping rear-view mirror. The new Innova Hycross comes with 18-inch alloy wheels. Colour options include Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Attitude Black and DK Steel MC.
Platform and dimensions
The Toyota Innova Hycross is getting a major platform change. This new Innova will be based on the TNGA-C platform which is a monocoque platform. This is a big deviation from the traditional ladder-on-frame chassis Innova’s.
Toyota Innova Hycross unveiled – Interior design
The interior of the Innova also gets a major update. We have a brown and black interior layout with plenty of soft-touch material used. In the middle, we have a floating 10-inch infotainment system. The centre console is placed slanting in a unique position. We also have a full black interior layout. Also, the addition of a panoramic sunroof makes the interior feel airy. The second-row seats also come with individual screens for the rear passengers.
Specifications
The new Innova Hycross is quite a big gamble for Toyota. Traditionally, the Innova has been known for its diesel engine, and the new Innova Hycross misses out on it. Instead, it comes with a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid paired with an automatic CVT gearbox. It also comes with a pure petrol 2.0-litre engine on the lower variants. Toyota didn’t reveal the power and efficiency figures of the new Innova Hycross. It just said the better performance by 25% and improved fuel efficiency by 50%. What are your thoughts? Toyota Innova Hycross unveiled – Features
The new Innova Hycross comes loaded with several new features. It now gets features like Toyota Safety Sense (Toyota’s ADAS), 360-degree parking camera, captain seats with Ottoman feature, powered tailgate, new TFT MID, electronic parking brake, paddle shifters and ambient lighting. We expect most of these features to make their way on the Indian-spec model.
India launch
Toyota has already confirmed the unveiling date of the new Innova Hycross on the 25th of November. It has also started the teaser campaign of the new Innova Hycross. What about the launch? Toyota may reveal the pricing of the Innova HyCross at the Auto Expo of 2023.
