Renault Duster is one of the oldest C-segment SUVs in the country. The car which was first launched in 2012 has received a few facelifts over the years. With that being said, the brand has not yet brought a generation update for the car whereas the foreign markets already have the 2nd-gen car which has now been given a facelift as well. With the generation gap between both cars, there are many things that the 1st-gen car is bound to miss in the country. In today’s article, we will discuss the updated Renault Duster and look at what India misses out on due to the unavailability of the 2nd-gen Duster here.

Duster 7-seater spotted – Will it make it to India?

Design

The updated car gets new Y-shaped LED DRLs, updated tail lamps, updated alloy wheels and for the first time, LED turn indicators. The front fascia has been reworked, giving the Duster an up-to-date styling quotient. On the inside, the car gets completely new upholstery and headrests. Moreover, the centre console has been raised to make the in-cabin experience more comfortable. The centre console is further complemented with a wide armrest. The car now gets new 16-inch & 17-inch alloy rims and a new spoiler, the aerodynamic efficiencies of which have been tested in a wind tunnel. A new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now made available in the cabin.

New gearbox

Updated Renault Duster

The biggest change of all in the updated Duster is the addition of a 6-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox (EDC). This gearbox will come paired with a 1.3-litre petrol engine that makes close to 148bhp. The EDC gearbox is however only available with the 2WD configuration. The EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) offers optimum performance without compromising on fuel efficiency.
