We were among the first to bring you the news that Datsun is all set to introduce a new concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. Named the Go-Cross, the latter is based on the Go+ MPV underpinnings. In classic crossover style, the Go-Cross sports a rugged look that’s accentuated by chunky body cladding, raised car height and contrast skid-plating fore and aft.

Illumination out front is via a quad-element headlamp setup while the LED daylight running lamps (DRL’s) are positioned within the air-dams, high up on the bumper. A skid-plate in contrasting silver makes for an emphatic crossover styling statement and adds further visual pizazz to the front end of the car. Body cladding is present in abundance and the profile view is enhanced by the window line which rises sharply upwards, as if to meet the roof-rails. Large alloys fill up the wheel-wells, thereby adding to a purposeful stance. At the rear, the Go-Cross sports a spoiler mounted on the roof, while the bumper is suitably sculpted to befit its crossover appearance.

With Datsun committed to expanding their lineup here in India, it would be anyone’s guess to know if indeed the production version of the Go-Cross should make it to showrooms here, sometime in the coming year.
