Nissan Motor will be showcasing the production-ready version of the upcoming Datsun RediGO on 29th October at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Datsun RediGO will be launched in the first quarter of 2016, in India.

The Datsun RediGO is based on the CMF-A platform, developed by Renault-Nissan alliance. This platform that also underpins the Renault Kwid, is completely built in India and is also heavily localised. Similarly, the RediGO, has been designed from scratch and will be made to suit Indian customers.

It will come fitted with a 800cc, three-cylinder engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It is expected to have a tall stance like the Kwid and a high ground clearance too.

The styling is expected to be crisper than the Kwid, with sharp lines.

It will be a modern affordable entry-level hatchback that will be stylish, spacious and even feature loaded. The car will have a newly styled interiors, which will be different from the Kwid.

The RediGO is expected to provide the much needed boost to the Datsun brand in India, as the sales of the current Datsun Go are not going as expected.

With high levels of localisation, the RediGO will be priced very competitively and will rival the Maruti Alto, Hyundai EON, Tata Nano and Renault Kwid.

Nissan will also showcase the GO-Cross, a crossover concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show.
