EVs in India

EVs are not quite popular in India. Charging infrastructure is one of the reasons why customers refrain from purchasing EVs. Government of India has promised its citizens that charging infrastructure will be improved. Subsidies are also provided for currently sold Electric cars.

New charging stations are being set up all over the country but there is a long time left to compare electric with fuel.

What does Hyundai want to do?

Hyundai, in an effort to extend support for its Kona’s consumers, has installed 7.2kW AC chargers at over 50 dealerships across 30 cities. EVs are currently most practical for cities and these steps further strengthen it.  Hyundai also provides each Kona EV with the same 7.2kW AC charger which fully charges the car in 6 hours 10 minutes from the comfort of home.

Hyundai Motors have also introduced the Industry first V2V charging support. V2V stands for Vehicle to Vehicle charging support and functions quite similar as its name suggests.  This feature enables EV users anytime anywhere charging support. This feature is currently avaialable in cities like Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Road Side Assistance also have portable charging solutions for emergency situations in Delhi and Bengaluru.
