The 2020 Force Gurkha BS6 was spotted road-testing in India recently. The car was completely camouflaged, so details are not very apparent. However, it looks very similar to the Auto Expo 2020 model. More details about it below.  The test car had steel rims and circular headlamps.  Black rearview mirrors are visible.  Side facing bench seats are also visible on the side profile of the test car.

Highlights about the Force Gurkha 2020

The Force Gurkha name is synonymous with off-road and the new Gurkha is no different. Design elements have completely changed compared to its predecessor, the car still retains its iconic boxy looks. The height and seating position of this car is humongous and demands road presence. After the Tata Safari, this car is on the list. The interiors are simplistic with a modern touch.
The touchscreen infotainment system is present. Steering mounted control s is absent and the bare steering wheel adds to the ruggedness of the car.  The analogue instrument cluster was present in the model to retain its classic look.

The car from outside looks bold and muscular too.  The exhaust pipe on the side of the car make it unique on the road and practical during floods. SUV styling elements are included as natural. The Auto Expo car also had a tow hinge attached to the back of the car. Ground clearance is segment beater and makes this car strong and off-road ready.

A 2.6-litre BS6 diesel engine may be provided with the new Force Gurkha. The engine will produce a maximum power output of 90bhp and 280Nm of peak torque according to sources. The Auto Expo variant had a 5-speed manual gearbox and 4×4 drivetrain.  Safety features will be included as industry standards.

The BS4 Force Gurkha cost upwards of Rs.10 lakh. The BS6 version will be priced slightly higher and compete against the Mahindra Thar 2020 which will also launch soon.
