New-gen Honda Amaze will be a lot more premium

The new-generation Honda Amaze will be a lot more premium in styling when compared to the current Amaze. The new Honda Brio will be launched in 2017, however the Amaze is due for a launch in 2018. The new Amaze will be based on the Brio platform itself however it will have multiple changes in its styling.

The Amaze will continue to be a sub four metre sedan however the styling will be all new. The Honda Amaze 2018 will follow the new design language of the new-generation of the Brio. The Amaze will follow the same Honda philosophy of man maximum, machine minimum. The Amaze will have spacious interiors and large boot. The quality of the materials used on the Amaze will be better.

In terms of features too, a lot more will be offered on the Amaze.

The new-generation Amaze will come with features like keyless entry, push start and stop, steering mounted audio controls, touchscreen infotainment system with maps, reverse parking camera and even bluetooth connectivity. All the Amaze variants will get dual airbags and ABS as a standard feature.  There won’t be much change in the space of the Amaze.

The Honda Amaze will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and the diesel for the Amaze remain the same with 1.5-litre. Honda is working on a 1.1-litre diesel engine, however that will be for the Brio.

With the reduction in demand for diesel cars and as people are getting a lot more conscious about buying diesel cars, Honda might not introduce the 1.1-litre diesel engine on the Brio. The Amaze will continue to have the 1.5-litre diesel engine with 98bhp and 200Nm of torque. This engine will be a lot more refined and have lesser noise too. This engine will come with a five-speed manual transmission, while there will even be a CVT on the petrol. The diesel might get clutch-less transmission too this time.

Honda Amaze 2018 Price:

The Honda Amaze 2018’s price will be about INR 6 lakhs to INR 9.5 lakhs (on-road). There won’t be a major change in the pricing of the higher variants, however the lower variants will see an increase in the price as they will get dual airbags and ABS as a stand feature. This will add on to the costing.

Honda Amaze 2018 mileage:

The Honda Amaze 2018 petrol will return about 12km/l in the city, while on the highway it would be about 15km/l. The Amaze 2018 diesel will return about 16km/l in the city, while that is about 20km/l on the highway.

Honda Amaze 2018 competition:

The Honda Amaze 2018 will be competing with DZire 2018. This will be the new-generation of the compact sedan too. The other compact sedans will be Ford Figo Aspire, Hyundai XCent and the Tata Zest.
