Discontinued version of TVS Victor
TVS Victor

The second half of the year promises to be an exciting one for TVS loyalists. The company is planning a number of products, with at-least three being confirmed at the 23rd AGM of the firm. Addressing the shareholders on the occasion, Mr. Venu Srinivasan, (Chairman & MD) categorically stated that a four-stroke moped, along with the New TVS Victor and a 200cc version of the Apache shall be in the showrooms this year. This is a clear indication on the direction that the company intends to take with respect to its product portfolio.

The Moped segment has been a traditional stronghold of TVS with its 70cc XL-Super HD being the market leader. Having recently achieved the distinction of crossing the one crore sales mark with the XL, TVS’s move to gear up for launching a new moped is only going to expand its market. The Victor on the other hand, promises to mark the comeback for TVS into the executive segment. Having had a ‘low’ presence in this category, TVS’ announcement on the Victor might just be the impetus the company needs. In the performance motorcycling segment, TVS has had a fairly strong platform with the Apache series. However, with competition hotting up and the segment also having moved beyond the 150-180cc’s, a new, 200cc Apache should be just what might get the footfalls in the showrooms. Thus, the announcement of these impending launches seem to clearly indicate the direction and focus of the company in the near future.
