Route and Journey

We took the Golden car to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The full road trip was around 1000km. The Tata Altroz Petrol comes with a 1.2L BS6 engine which due to the lightweight of the car is more than sufficient.  The clutch and steering response is also very good.  The overall stability of the car is also quite good. The vibrations are also quite minimum which is an important point, and missed by many reviewers.

You also get align steering wheel function before you leave for your trip, which makes it quite handy and segment first. The rear seat comfort is also quite good with ample headroom and legroom. Three adult passengers can easily sit in the rear seat, thanks to its wide stance. The central tunnel is also flat and you get rear AC vents and 12V charging socket as well for convenience. The comfort of the car is also quite spectacular for its segment.  The market leader Maruti Baleno does have space but a notch-less comfort.

Platform and Handling

Thanks to its ALFA platform the handling of the Tata Altroz is also quite impressive.  This new platform is future-proof against upcoming norms.  The cruise control function makes highway driving hassle-free. Touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play is an added and necessary feature. The touchscreen size does feel a little bit small, according to market standards.  The advanced platform has scored a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP tests. High-speed stability is also a strong point of the car. Amritsar was fast approaching and this car did not disappoint.  Highway mileage of the Tata Altroz is close to 20.8kmpl.  The gold exterior colour with black accents increase the overall styling of the car.

Finally, the road trip concludes after 1000km and the price to performance/feature ratio of the car can be compared to the golden ratio, like its colour. Ambient lighting feature in this car is also segment first. As of now, this is the best-in-segment premium hatchback car in the Indian market.
