Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has recalled three of its scooters for a suspect issue in the front suspension. The scooters in question are the Honda Activa 125, Honda Aviator and Honda Grazia. The Japanese maker has announced that it will inspect and if needed, replace the part in these scooters. Honda has taken a precautionary measure and thus is informing its customers about the same.
The company has identified a suspected quality issue which pertains to excessive hardness in a bolt flange (10×42) mounted in the front fork of these scooters. The affected number of scooters is estimated at 56,194 units that include all three models. All three scooter are shod with front telescopic forks and share the same setup. The regular Honda Activa 4G and 5G are not covered in this, as they have a different suspension setup.
The company is directly notifying its customers, through its dealer network. Customers may receive a phone call, SMS or even an e-mail regarding this recall. Customers can also check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), on the Honda website, where there is a dedicated section for this issue.
