2019 Hyundai Santa Fe debuts at Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva Motor Show 2018 saw the unveiling of the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Santa Fe is now in its fourth generation. The big SUV has made its first public appearance and will go on sale in US markets in a few months from now. The new Santa Fe will replace the present one gradually in other markets, including India. The new-gen Hyundai Santa Fe will be made available as a five seater as well as a seven seater. It will get both petrol and diesel engine options. Hyundai has also announced that the Santa Fe will be made available in a hybrid and plug-in hybrid version. When will it come to India? what will be the price? Read on further to know more.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Launch Date
The new Santa Fe has just been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It will start selling in US markets this year. An Indian launch of this SUV is expected in mid to late 2019. The present generation Santa Fe will be replaced with this new generation model.

The new-gen Hyundai Santa Fe will be priced similar to the existing model, with a slight increase, owing to the new equipment. However, to compete with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, Hyundai will be vary of pricing it competitively.

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol will be a 2.4-litre engine with 185bhp and the diesel will be a 2.2-litre CRDi with 195bhp of power. Both engines will be mate to a 8-speed automatic transmission and the diesel will also have a 6-speed manual option. The refinement levels of this SUV will be much improved than the outgoing model.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Design
The new Santa Fe looks radically different from the outgoing model. The front part especially is very attractive. It gets a pair of sleek headlamps. The new Santa Fe has been made in line with the recent models of the Hyundai range. This includes the new cascading grille design, a pair of sleek headlamps, a new light cluster on the bumper and a prominent line that runs across the bonnet base. It looks proportionate for the side and attractive from the rear.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Interior
Inside, the rear windows are now 41% larger than the outgoing version. There is more space in the second ad third row. There is 38mm more legroom in the second row, while the third row sees an increase in headroom by 22mm. The front seats ten different adjustments, with adjustable seat cushions.
There is a rear-occupant alert that warns the driver if the passengers are out of their seats. It also gets a rear cross-traffic collision alert system that helps monitor traffic while reversing. If a vehicle approaches, the SUV will sound an alarm and even apply the brakes, if necessary. A new four-wheel drive control system also comes in here, to boost grip on slippery surfaces. The Santa Fe 2019 also gets a heads up display for the first time on a Hyundai SUV. There is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well.
