Kia will be showcasing its products for the first time in India, during the Auto Expo 2018. We had earlier revealed that the Korean maker will be getting a Hyundai Creta rival SUV, which could be amongst its first products to be launched in India. Now, Kia will be showcasing the Concept SP, which is an SUV that the company will be launching. This concept SUV will be unveiled on 7th February at the Auto Expo 2018.

The new SUV that Kia will bring to India will be based on the SP Concept and will be contemporary in all ways. The new SUV will new underpinned by an all new platform. This new platform will also be used under the next-gen Hyundai Creta. As these will be cousins, there will be a lot of parts shared between the two.

The engines will be the same as available on the next-gen Creta.

There will be a new 1.5-litre diesel engine with around 120bhp of power. This engine will be BS-VI compliant. The other engine will be a 1.6-litre petrol. These engines will be paired to a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission. The SP Concept based SUV will be stylish and have sharp lines. Kia SP Concept SUV Launch date

Kia SP Concept will be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018 on 7th February. This Concept will provide an insight into the design on the future SUV that Kia will be launching in India. It will be a Creta-sized, five-seater SUV. The SUV based on this concept will be launched by 2020 in India.

Kia SP Concept SUV Design

The Kia SP Concept gets a crossover styling. It has a sloping roofline towards the rear and the wheel arches are flared, to give it a muscular look. It gets a prominent shoulder line along the sides and there is a five-spoke petal design alloy wheels. The front fascia will be attractive and will have wrap-around headlamps. These headlamps will be full-LED ones and will have LED daytime running lights as well. It will also have the signature tiger nose grille of Kia.

Kia SP Concept SUV 2

The rear of the vehicle will see sleek LED tail lamps. There will be a chrome strip above the number plate. There will be skid plates under the vehicle, to add some more appeal. The Kia SP Concept will also have dual exhausts. This will make it look sporty as well. The Kia SP Concept is likely to be around 4.5-meters in length. It will be around the same length of the Hyundai Creta.

The interiors are also expected to be contemporary and stylish. It will also come feature loaded with new age features. In terms of Safety, there will most likely be an option for six airbags and ABS with EBD, hill descent control and traction control.

Kia SP Concept SUV Engines

The SUV based on the SP Concept will have a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 120bhp of power. It will also get a 1.6-litre petrol engine which will have 125bhp of power. These engines will be mated to a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.

The engine will be powerful and frugal at the same time.

Kia at Auto Expo 

Along with the SP Concept debut, Kia will be showcase its range of cars that it sells globally, at Auto Expo 2018. Kia will also display its range of electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and other cars. The new Stinger sports sedan will also be on display.

Kia Motors is bullish on the Indian market and will aim to grab a large share here.
