Kawasaki KLX 250 launch at Auto Expo ?

Kawasaki has been flooding the market with new motorcycles over the last year. This year also started with a bang, with the introduction of the Vulcan S. There is a buzz about another new bike form the Japanese bike maker. It seems they will be launching an off-road motorcycle – a dual sport one. In all probability , this could be the Kawasaki KLX250. Kawasaki had launched the KLX last year, but it was not a road legal bike. it was targeted towards budding motocross enthusiasts. This time Kawasaki plans to target the upcoming off-road enthusiasts, looking for a good dual sport motorcycle. If this comes to India at a reasonable price, it could be a winner. 2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 Price in India

The 2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 will be priced at around INR 3.2 lakhs (ex-showroom). The pricing will be on the higher side as this will be a CKD unit and being an off-roading bike, it has a more complex suspension system, along with a sprightly performing engine.

2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 Design

The 2018 KLX250 now gets a  sharper styling. The KX design language is an inspiration here. The two-piece radiator shrouds and fork guards have been inspired from the KX family. The seat height is set pretty high and the stance is also of a proper Dual Sport. A raised front mudguard is there and the bike now looks more exciting than the earlier model. The headlamp design is also sharper.

2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 Specifications

The 2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 has a 249cc, single cylinder, DOHC engine. This is liquid cooled and has fuel injection. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The power figures of the bike have not yet been released. The suspension setup on the 2018 KLX 250 comes fully adjustable. This is great for off-roading. There is a 21-inch front wheel  and 18-inch rear wheels. Obstacle tackling ability of the bike gets better as a result of that. Brakes of the 2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 are a twin-piston caliper with a 250mm disc up front and a single-piston caliper with 240mm disc at the rear.

2018 Kawasaki KLX 250 Competition

There is no real competition to this bike as such This will start a new segment altogether as there is no dual sport bike in the country as of now. There would be some competition from the KTM Duke 390 and the upcoming Adventure 390. The BMW G310GS will also compete in a similar space, but at a lower price point.
