2018 Bajaj Discover 110 and 125 launched

Bajaj Auto has been experimenting a lot with the Discover brand. After having multiple models in this line up, it has discontinued almost all, barring the 125cc version. That too was not doing well lately and the growth had flattened. For the year 2018, Bajaj has taken a new approach and launched two new version namely the Discover 110 and the 125, with some new elements. The Discover 110 is a new bike with a new engine and the 125 also gets some tweaks to make it more desirable especially in the wake of competition. How ia the new Bajaj Discover 110 and the 125? The new Discover 110 and 125 bring first time ever features to customers in the 100-125cc segment for a premium experience. The Discovers shall attract a whole new set of customers who desire the benefits of modern technology.”

The new Discover bikes are priced aggressively. This may help the company to bring back customers to this brand. The Discover brand has quite a few loyal customers, but due to no action from the company, it had become stagnant. Hopefully with the new models coming in, there will be some freshness that customers seek.

Bajaj Discover 110 and 125 Specifications

The Bajaj Discover 110 comes with a new 115.5cc DTS-i engine that develops 8.2bhp of power and 9.8Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 4-speed transmission with an all-down shift pattern. The engine is a long stroke one. This is useful in city riding as one doesn’t have to shift gears frequently.

The Bajaj Discover 125 also gets a long stroke engine. This is a 124.5cc engine that delivers 10.5bhp of power and 11Nm of torque. Its engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This has a one down-five up shift pattern.

Both bikes get modified suspensions. They now have a 16% longer travel. Bajaj bikes have got good suspension setups in all their bikes, right from the CT100 to the Dominar. They offer a good ride quality and Bajaj have well understood Indian road conditions.

Bajaj Discover 110 and 125 Mileage

Both are fuel efficient bikes. The Discover 110 will return around 55-60km/l and the Discover 125 will return around 45-50km/l in real riding conditions. This will vary from rider to rider.

Design

Bajaj has experimented with the design of the Discover in the past, but it did not yield good results. As per Bajaj, the customers are satisfied the the look of the Discover and hence the basic design has been retained. In terms of styling there are new body graphics on the bikes that look cool. The highlight is addition of new LED daytime running lights.

All new Bajaj bikes are now having DRLs, starting from the Platina. This is a good move and also enhances the appeal of the bike. The bike is visible from a distance and it is a very good safety feature as well. This is a category first feature. Both these bikes also get a new instrument pod. This is a combination of digital and analogue. It adds some sportiness to the bike. The taillamp has a textures bezel, having chrome at the top. It looks pretty stylish as well.

Colours

The Discover 110 and 125 come in three colour options.

• Black
• Red
• Blue

The body graphics on these bikes also differ from colour to colour.
