Hero is working on a new 125cc scooter

Hero MotoCorp has been working on a new 125cc scooter. Hero had forayed into scooters with the Maestro Edge and Duet being its first indigenous project. The new scooter that the company is working on is a 125cc offering for the Indian market. Hero will be looking at launching the new scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo. Unveil if not launch. Hero is the market leader in 2W for India, but in scooters it is way behind the Honda brand. There are plans for the Hero 125cc scooter in this year.

Hero has been looking at covering ground in the scooter segment and it did have some amount of impact in the 125cc segment. Hero is working on more new scooters not just in the 110cc segment but even the 125cc. With the launch of the Aprilia SR 150, most of the 2W makers are looking at enhancing their presence in more powerful scooters. Hero had showcased the Dare as a concept scooter in 2014 Auto Expo.

Hero 125cc Specifications

This was a 125cc scooter. It seems that there will be multiple changes in the styling. There shall be a new engine on offer. This will be developed by Hero MotoCorp. Now, it is a tad early to state anything more about this scooter, but it should produce close to 10bhp of power and about 10Nm of maximum torque. This will come mated to a CVT box.

It should have a top speed of about 90km/hr and it will have a fuel-efficiency of about 45-50km/l. In terms of power it will offer better drivability over the 110cc scooter. It does have better initial pick up for the Indian car market.

Honda 125cc Price in India

This will be offered with somewhere in the price range of Rs 58,000 to Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom). This should be the expected pricing and it will have more than sufficient features on offer. In terms of design, we aren’t certain what all will be on offer. We expect this new scooter to be launched by the end of 2018.
