The most obvious change to the Hyundai Elantra 2019 is the new fascia with LED DRLs, a new hood design, new fenders and also a new front grille that is very Lexus. At the back, the Elantra gets a revised bumper and new taillights. The chrome strip has been replaced with the name ‘Elantra’ written across the back. The new changes to the exterior have made the sedan more dynamic in the way it looks while the single streak look is very elegant to look at. The boot-lid has also received changes with the number plate now positioned on the bumper.
Hyundai Elantra 2019 Interior
The car will continue to receive the existing features it boasts. This was one of the first cars to come with ventilated seats. The Hyundai Elantra 2019 now comes with a new infotainment system. The air vents seem to be the only things that are carried over from the previous car.

MG Hector will be priced to take on Tata Harrier
MG has finally and officially named the first SUV that it is building for India and making in India. The car will be called the MG Hector. The name ‘Hector’ draws inspiration from the noble qualities of the Trojan warrior hero – Prince Hector of Troy. It pays homage to great British engineering tradition, as a nod to the Royal Hector biplane, used by the Royal Air Force in the 1930s. The car is currently testing in cold weather conditions and will be launched later this year.
Here are five things we think you should know about the upcoming Hector –
- The MG Hector Will be available with both petrol and diesel engines
- It is bigger than the Harrier and the Tuscon (scroll down for dimensions)
- it will be highly localized, MG claims 75% localization
- The car will get more premium with soft-touch materials, first in class features and a 12.1-inch touchscreen
- it will be a 5 seater priced at Creta’s price and will be bigger than the Harrier, Compass and XUV500
The car will be made in India at the Halol plant in Gujarat. The Hector will also be the first MG India SUV. We have also got some new spy shots of the car, do scroll down for more.
MG Hector Launch
MG will launch this product in India next year, around April. The vehicle will be made in the MG’s Halol plant. As we have known the Bajoun SUV has been spotted testing in India many times now. This will the first product to be launched in India by MG. MG will be then launching a product every year in India. For the Hector, MG will be launching the car in mid-2019.
MG Hector Price
So the diesel motor that will be used in the MG SUV will be the Fiat units used in the Jeep Compass. The size of the car will be close to that of the Hyundai Tuscon and the Honda CRV. These attributes paired with a strong pricing strategy will make the MG brand unstoppable. The car is looking to slot itself in the Rs 15 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs price range. This price range will be a very strong and competitive price segment to get into. With that kind of pricing the car car will be competing with the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Mahindra XUV500.
|MG Hector base variant||Rs 15 lakhs|
|MG Hector top variant||Rs 20 lakhs|
MG Hector Interior and Design
The interior first! This is where as seen above we have come across some spy shots of the front row of the cars being tested under camouflage. The car looks like it’s borrowing details like the air vents, instrument cluster, door handles and the handbrake lever from it’s SAIC cousins the MG Baojun 530 and the Roewe RX5. The car will get a sunroof, ambient lighting, a digital instrument console and features like lane assist, park assist and 6 airbags for safety. The front driver seat will be electrically adjustable too. Its exterior styling will be very close to the Baojun 530 and will have many design element s from other SAIC products. The interior is likely to be upmarket and plush too, with leather seats, soft-touch materials on the dashboard and chrome surround for the AC vents.
There is some speculation that the Hector will actually be based on the Chevrolet Captiva. The most interesting part of the spy shots(scroll below) is the Hector’s big Tesla like touchscreen and it looks like the car will get a manual gearbox option in India.
The car will also get a DRLs which will turn into turn signals like the Harrier. The below image shows us how this DRL will be an individual unit, separate from the main headlight cluster.
MG Hector Specifications
The premium car that will be the MG Hector is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel. Both engines will be sourced from Fiat. The Jeep Compass’ diesel motor will do duty on the MG SUV too. The top-end variants are expected to be equipped with automatic transmission and AWD capability. The cars will come with 7 speed automatic and a manual version too. Recently a bunch of MG SUV’s have been spotted along with a Hyundai Tucson. This shows that the Chinese automaker is bench-marking its first Indian product against the premium Hyundai offering. MG Motor India MD, Mr. Rajeev Chaba has revealed that the SUV is a mid-sized C segment SUV. It is not a Hyundai Creta or Jeep Compass rival in any way, but a much bigger and a more premium offering.
MG Hector Dimensions
Measuring 4,655mm in length, 1,835mm in width and 1,760mm in height, the MG is longer and taller than Tata’s Land Rover-platform-based Harrier and even the Hyundai Tucson. As the Hector will only have seats for five, expect a roomy cabin and a large boot.
MG Hector Spy Shots
Above we can see spy shots of the interior of the car and the car being tested in the demanding high altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh.

The company is now thinking to replace the Ford EcoSport in Eupore with a compact SUV that will be based on the Fiesta platform. The car has been spotted testing in the UK and will make to production soon. The 2020 Ford EcoSport will not come to India anytime soon before the end of next year though.

2020 Ford EcoSport Platform
The car is going to based on the platform of the European Ford Fiesta. The Fiesta is really doing wonders for Ford and an SUV based on that car is also expected to do well. The Fiesta is a supermini and can be compared to cars like the Hyundai i20 and the Baleno in India.
2020 Ford EcoSport Design
The Ford will carry different design style from the current EcoSPort for sure. The car’s design will lean more towards a crossovers looks. The Fiesta’s design is going to be key here. Ford will ake sure there are subtle reminders and touches that relate the car to the Ford families most famous hatchback. The interior will be feature loaded. The car will come with the latest SYNC software for its entertainment system and the upholstery will be more sporty and durable too. There will be more emphasis and though on the rear seat and boot too. While the front row is an excellent place to be in, the EcoSports Achilles heel is its rear seat comfort. Ford will address that.

2020 Ford EcoSport Specifications
The car is set to share a platform – and likely an engine range, including the popular Ecoboost petrol powertrains – with the Fiesta. From many spy pictures, we can say that the design language is going to be a bit different with LED and DRL’s making their way to the car. The bonnet is flatter and bigger too. There will be more space on the inside with more focus on luggage.
The side profile looks different too. There are several aspects that make it stand out. This also looks different, especially the rear window. Hyundai Creta 2019 will get a new SX(O) variant and more features
The is Creta is one of the most popular cars in the Indian market. The car came to India in 2014 and was an instant hit with buyers. It is manufactured in Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu factory along with cars like the Eon, Grand i10, new-gen Verna, Elantra, Tucson, i20 Active and the i20. This year with the Creta, we saw a much-needed facelift for the car. With that, we also got a new engine in the form of the 1.6-litre petrol mated to an automatic gearbox. The facelift has made two top variants, SX and SX (O) feature loaded. The Hyundai Creta 2019 will now get a new trim and some other cool features too. So what do we expect from this 2019, model year update –
-The 2019 Creta is available in 6 variants – E, E+, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive
– Rear parking sensors, seat belt reminders for the front seats and speed alert system are now standard across all variants. The S variant comes with fabric upholstery and both front seats get seat back pockets. Additionally, the automatic climate control on the SX variant comes with a Cluster Ionizer.
-The newly added SX (O) Executive trim gets ventilated front seats as standard.
The Hyundai Creta 2019 will have the same platform as the current generation car. It will have the same engine options too. But such small updates are very important for this car. The Creta will have to watch it’s back with the upcoming Kia SP, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and the MG India SUV.

Hyundai Creta 2019 Interior
The interior might receive new color options. The silver and beige combination on the current Creta looks dull and Hyundai should consider adding some better options and replacing it on the Hyundai Creta 2019. The seats too will receive an update with fabric and leather options. This Creta already comes with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. There is a sunroof option on the SX and SX (O) variant. There is ample storage space. There is also a good amount of boot space. There are cup holders in every door and in the front and rear arm-rest. Hyundai Creta 2019 Pictures
Hyundai Creta 2019 Competition
The Creta never really faced any completion and was in a segment of its own. But with big SUVs like the Tata Hexa, XUV 500 and lifestyle SUVs like the Jeep Compass coming in at its price point there cannot be said much about it not having completion. Even compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza have made a case for themselves as being amazing value for money propositions in front of the Creta.
Hyundai Creta 2019
The Hyundai Creta 2019 will be launched next year and will see no huge change in pricing or looks. There will not be any change in the car. It will be a model year product. We expect the lower variants to get more features from the top end variant spread.

2019 Maruti Suzuki Vitara – Will battle Hyundai’s 7-seater Creta
The Maruti Vitara will be the Creta fighter from Maruti. The new Maruti Vitara SUV will be positioned above the Vitara Brezza. This SUV is bigger than the Vitara Brezza in size and is also more spacious inside. Most importantly this car will be taking on the Hyundai Creta 7 seater. The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Vitara will be a fierce competitor to the Hyundai Creta. Maruti will try and price this car in the regular 5 seater Creta’s price range and make it a bit more competitive for Hyundai when they get the new 7 seater version of the Creta. The Korean maker will see a major challenger now in this segment. The Vitara Brezza is the best selling SUV in India and Maruti would want the Vitara also to be the best seller. It will be interesting to see this battle. Which is why we think that the car will be sold through Nexa dealerships which are more premium.
The Maruti S-Cross is actually Maruti’s natural competitor for the Creta, but the Creta is better in terms of engine options and features. It is also bigger in size and has a better road presence. Despite a recent facelift, the S-Cross is not selling expected volumes. It has got more crossover looks than a proper SUV and that may be a turn-off for many buyers. The S-Cross will continue to sell, but its crossover image will remain. The Vitara, on the other hand, would be a proper SUV in comparison. The pricing also would be more premium as compared to the S-Cross. The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Vitara will come with new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, to take on the 7-seater Creta. It is likely to be sold from the Nexa experience showrooms.
What all does the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Vitara have? When will it be launched? Will Maruti finally break the Creta’s monoply in the market? Read further to know more about this upcoming SUV.

Hyundai Walking Car Concept is the Future: Hyundai Elevate
Hyundai is all about the future and this year at CES they wanted to flaunt it. CES or Consumer Electronics Show is the place to be when you have a new technology or a product that is going to change a lot of things when introduced for the coming year. This year car manufacturers to have had a lot of presence here and with CES. What Hyundai has done this year is show us something that is completely different and mind-blowing. The Hyundai Walking Car Concept shown at CES 2019 comes with first responders, ambulances and taxi services in its mind. The car is a display of what can be done with a car when it loses a rolling chassis and takes up waking or hopping over obstacles. The cars maneuverability, reach and capabilities are taken to another level. The cars are called Hyundai Elevate and it will be crucial according to Hyundai and in some cases life-saving for those who are victims of natural or man-made disasters where mobility and reaching the victims is difficult.
- Debuting at CES 2019, “Elevate”, the Ultimate Mobility Vehicle (UMV), prepares communities in the event of a natural disaster
- Wheels with robotic legs allow users to drive, walk or even climb over the most treacherous terrain
According to Hyundai, any first responder will tell you that the first 72 hours following a natural disaster are the most crucial to saving lives. However, often times due to the nature of the disaster (forest fire, earthquake, hurricane, or flood), it can be difficult for search-and-rescue and humanitarian aid missions to reach and get immediate help to those in need. The need for efficient, rapid, resilient transportation for disaster assistance is what led Hyundai to develop the first-ever vehicle with moveable legs. Hyundai Elevate is the first Ultimate Mobility Vehicle (UMV), blending technology found in electric cars and robots, which allows it to traverse terrain beyond the limitations of even the most capable off-road vehicle.
The Elevate concept is based on a modular EV platform with the capability to switch out different bodies for specific situations. The robotic leg architecture has five degrees of freedom plus wheel hub propulsion motors and is enabled by the latest in electric actuator technology. This design is uniquely capable of both mammalian and reptilian walking gaits, allowing it to move in any direction.
The legs also fold up into a stowed drive-mode, where the power to the joints is cut, and the use of an integrated passive suspension system maximizes battery efficiency. This allows Hyundai Elevate to drive at highway speeds just like any other vehicle. But no other can climb a five-foot wall, step over a five-foot gap, walk over diverse terrain, and achieve a 15-foot wide track width, all while keeping its body and passengers completely level. Further, the combination of wheeled motion with articulating legs provides a new paradigm of mobility by enabling faster walking speeds, unique dynamic driving postures and torsional control at the end of each leg.

“By combining the power of robotics with Hyundai’s latest EV technology, Hyundai Elevate has the ability to take people where no car has been before, and redefine our perception of vehicular freedom,” said David Byron, design manager, Sundberg-Ferar. “Imagine a car stranded in a snow ditch just 10 feet off the highway being able to walk or climb over the treacherous terrain, back to the road potentially saving its injured passengers – this is the future of vehicular mobility.”
Inside the Hyundai Elevate, passengers would experience a vehicle fully engineered to tackle the roughest terrain comfortably. Engineering enhancements include:
- Robotic legs with five degrees of freedom plus in-wheel propulsion
- Ability to walk in mammalian and reptilian style gaits for omnidirectional motion
- Capable of climbing a five-foot vertical wall
- Step over a five-foot gap
- Non-back drivable motors enable the legs to lock in any position
- The modular electric vehicle platform

Top vintage cars used in old Bollywood movies
Cars have always played a defining role in a film. They can be shown as a mode of transportation, some can be shown as a sign to define wealth and in some scenarios in a song or chase sequence to make the movie interesting. In modern times the use of the car in Bollywood movies has increased and in some cases, it has been done tastefully and in other not that much. In the olden days, with no help of the CGI, modern safety tech and stunt coordination the cars were more real and sometimes in an uncontrolled environment where the actor had to act while driving. The cars from this period were cool too. You will be surprised by the marquees and brands that were plying on the Indian roads in the early days after Independence.
Here are the Top vintage cars used in old Bollywood movies. Check them out-
Chevrolet Bel Air
The car was used in the 1967 Dev Anand movie ‘Jewel Thief’ starring the actress, Tanuja. The Bel Air convertible was featured in the popular song, ‘Yeh dil na hota bechara’.
1928 Ford Model A
The movie ‘Chalti Ka Nam Gaddi’ had a hit cast with Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar and Madhubala. The car chosen for the film was a Ford Model A and was lovingly called ‘Champion’ by the 3 brothers in the film.
The 1978 movie Trishul had some really cool cars. In the span of a few scenes, Bachchan hops between a Chevy Impala convertible and what is indisputably the most gorgeous car of the 20th century: a Jaguar E-Type, modded to include exposed supercharged pipes along the sides.
Willys Jeep CJ3B
Used in the movie ‘Aradhna’, the ‘Willys Jeep CJ3B was an iconic vehicle during the times. Starring ‘Rajesh Khanna’ in the iconic song ‘mere sapnoki rani’, he is seen in a Willys Jeep CJ3B.
Mercedes Benz 300 SL Convertible
I want to end this list with a car that the youth of today can at least remember or relate to. Farhan Akhtar’s debut film as director, ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ showed us road trip from Mumbai to Goa in an open top Mercedes Benz 300 SL convertible. The road trip scene showed the newly made Mumbai Pune expressway and a race between a train and the big Merc.
Are there any cool cars that you remember from your childhood that should make the list? Let us know in the comments below.
