There are a bunch of upgrades and new products from Maruti Suzuki that will be coming in 2015. This year Maruti Suzuki had only launched the new Celerio and the Ciaz, other than that the Swift facelift and Alto K10 were another major launches from the auto manufacturer. But in 2015, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch several new models in India.
1) Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire 2015
To begin the year, the Swift DZire facelift will be launched in India. The Swift facelift was launched last year and this year it is the compact sedan of the hatchback. It will get a new front chrome grille with day time running LEDs and a few more cosmetic upgrades on the outside. Inside, it will get several new features like push start and stop button, keyless entry, Bluetooth integration in the music system, new seat fabric and a couple of more features. This will make the Swift DZire a lot more better value for money product. The pricing won’t change much and there might be an addition of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. The Swift DZire will be launched in the first few months of the year.
2) Maruti Suzuki SX4 S-Cross
A compact crossover from Suzuki’s international stable, the SX4 S-Cross will be making its way into India in the coming months. The new S-Cross will be made available in India sometime early 2015 and hopefully even before April 2015. The SX4 S-Cross is based on the SX4 platform and will be made available in India at a price point of Rs 6.5-9 lakhs. This will compete with Fiat’s Avventura. The SX4 sedan has been discontinued to make way for the Ciaz. The exterior and interior styling of the S-Cross will be different form the SX4 sedan, especially the interiors. The SX4 S-Cross will be powered by 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine and 1.3-litre diesel engine.
3) Maruti Suzuki YRA
Maruti Suzuki’s next premium hatchback and complete reveal by MotorOctane.com, is so far codenamed as YRA. This is Maruti Suzuki’s next premium hatchback for India. It will be placed above the Swift and it will compete with the i20. The YRA has a new exterior and interior design too and it will come with 1.2-litre Dual Jet petrol and the new 1.5-litre diesel engine.
The price of the YRA will be about Rs 7-9 lakhs and if you need to know all about the YRA, click here. As MotorOctane is the only site with all the information on this new premium hatchback at the moment. The YRA will be launched around the festive season.
4) Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel
The Celerio was launched last year with an AMT, but this year Maruti Suzuki will be soon coming with a diesel engine on the Celerio. This will be the company’s all-new diesel engine developed by Suzuki’s in-house team. The new diesel engine will be a two-cylinder 793cc and it will produce about 45bhp of power. This will be smallest diesel engine in the country and it will come with three variants LDi, VDi and ZDi. We aren’t sure with there will be an AMT option on this, but the Celerio diesel is likely to become the cheapest diesel engine hatch in India. There won’t be any changes in the styling and the pricing will be about Rs 45,000 more than the regular petrol. The Celerio diesel will be launched by mid-2015.
5) Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift
Another facelift from Maruti, and this will be the aging Ertiga. Ertiga is aging quickly as several new products are coming up in competition. The upgrades on the Ertiga are cosmetic. To begin with, it gets a new front chrome grille. This makes it look a lot premium and adds on to its styling. There are the day-time running LEDs, like the Swift and the Swift DZire. Then there is the start and stop button, keyless entry and finally even Ertiga will get Bluetooth connectivity.
6) Maruti Suzuki Wagon R AMT
The Wagon R and the Celerio share the same engine, and hence even the Wagon R will soon get the AMT. The Wagon R is more practical hatchback and the Celerio is on the premium side, so the Wagon R will become a more affordable AMT between the Alto K10 and the Celerio. The additional cost for an AMT will be about Rs 20,000-25,000. The Wagon R AMT is expect to be launched in the first half of 2015.
