As per some of the latest reports, Royal Enfield is looking at buying Ducati. A while ago there were talks that Ducati could be sold to Hero MotoCorp. Both these brands have their base in India and Ducati could help them reach out to more markets and even enhance their current technologies. Royal Enfield is looking at globalising the brand and reaching out to more markets. the company targets to become the highest two-wheeler seller in the mid-size motorbikes.

The company is working on several new bikes and there is even a twin-cylinder bike. But if Eicher Motors procures Ducati, it will get access to all the Italian bike makers racing pedigree and frugal technologies. Ducati is one of the most popular bike brands in the world and this will be a great opportunity for Royal Enfield as well. However, the question that comes up is if Royal Enfield should buy this company.

Royal Enfield is a fast growing brand and at the moment, all it needs is more products to reach out to more buyers globally. So, in terms of technology it can improve, but there is no eager need or immediate requirement. However, Ducati’s sales network will be more handy for the brand. With MotoGP experience, Royal Enfield will also have an advantage to attract more passionate bikers. Those who are serious riders and go on riding trips far off.

We aren’t certain if Royal Enfield should procure this company.

What they get is insist name and fame, but business opportunities? We aren’t certain. Both brands target different set of customers, and maybe this could be a fast forward way to enhance the Group’s current portfolio. The pace at which Royal Enfield is growing is brilliant, but this will surely boost their worldwide network. This also means the company will have to make newer plans.

Ducati is an exciting brand to have in your portfolio. At the moment, Suzuki, Honda, Polaris and even Harley Davidson are competing to acquire this brand.
