2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo launched at INR 47.63 lakhs (on-road)
The 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo has been launched in India starting at INR 47.
63 lakhs (on-road, Delhi). This is a facelift of the earlier model. The car has premiered at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and now BMW has launched the car in India too. We find out what is new on the 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.
2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Design
The facelifted 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo has the basic structure unchanged. The exterior and interiors largely remain the same as the earlier model. Typical features are four doors with frameless windows, a downward-sloping roofline similar to a coupe and a large automatically opening and closing tailgate.
The exterior now features adaptive LED headlamps with automatic height activation and four ‘white’ LED corona ring design makes it look sportier. It also gets LED front foglamps, redesigned air intakes, new LED taillamps with L-shape graphics, redesigned rear apron and larger exhaust tailpipes.
2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Interior
The interior also has been refreshed. It now gets glossy black surfaces and chrome accents. With the heightened seat position and very spacious interiors, it ensures excellent comfort. The massive 520-litre boot space can be increased by up to 33 litres. Folding the rear seat backrest in a 40:20:40 split adds an extra 1,600 litres.
There is a new elegant Center Information Display (CID) that look harmonious with interiors.
The car now also gets the latest version of the Professional infotainment system. One can use smartphones which can be charged and connected to the car’s external aerial wireless via an inductive tray. Several new choices have been introduced for the exterior colour, alloy wheel design and upholstery.
2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Engine
The 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo comes with two engine options. The first is the 320d which has a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. This engine now delivers 188bhp of power and 400Nm of torque @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. Inspite of the bump in power, the fuel consumption and emissions are reduced.
The second engine is a two- litre four cylinder petrol engine of which is the 330i. It produces an output of 250bhp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,450 – 4,800 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 -100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The engines are mates to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmissio. It also is available with steering wheel paddle shifters.
2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Features
The 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo gets new features like ConnectedDrive which has BMW iDrive the on-board Driver Information system and a 22.3 cms display, BMW Navigation system Professional with 3D maps, BMW Apps, Park Distance Control (PDC), Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB/AUX IN connectivity.
In terms of safety it gets six air bags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Side-impact Protection, Runflat tyres with reinforced sidewalls, emergency spare wheel, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor.

2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Colours
The 2017 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is available in Alpine White (non-metallic) and also in Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect and Melbourne Red with two new additional colors – Jatoba, Arctic Grey Brilliant Effect.
