Porsche Panamera Coupe spotted on test

Porsche Panamera Coupe and Convertible have been in the making, if the rumours are true. Porsche will want to give a tiff to its neighbour’s S Coupe and Convertible.

Last time, this was vehicle was spotted with UK license plate indicating this could be the new Bentley Continental GT. However, this time it has been spotted with Porsche plates.

Porsche Panamera Coupe design

Porsche Panamera Coupe will have a similar fascia like the Panamera and at the same time it will even get an air scoop on the bonnet. There will even be LED headlamps and daytime running LEDs as well. The front grille on the Panamera Coupe has been changed for testing, else it will get the same slender one like the Panamera. The elongated headlamps and the sloping roofline on the Panamera Coupe indicate that the design language will be similar to the Panamera and the 911. Finally a Panamera that will have a sexy rear. The Coupe might impress many who need a four seater Porsche but do not like the styling of the Panamera.

Porsche Panamera Coupe interiors

There shall be no change on the inside. The Porsche Panamera will have the same interiors like the Panamera.

Porsche Panamera Coupe Engine

Porsche Panamera Coupe will be offered with an array of turbo and non-turbo six and eight cylinder engines. There will also be the V6 diesel engine powering the Coupe, and this will be a big hit in Europe. The Porsche Panamera Coupe should get a GTS version too. Porsche will get the hybrid technology on the Panamera Coupe also.

The Stuttgart based automaker has been looking at entering several new segments to diversify its portfolio. After the Macan, it might have decided to tap on the Panamera range. We are pretty there should be  a Panamera Coupe RS also being in the works.

Porsche Panamera Coupe Release date

Do not hope to see this coupe enter production anytime before 2018. It might be released in 2017, but it will get into production by 2018 and this includes deliveries in North America and Europe.

Porsche Panamera Coupe Price

The price of the Porsche Panamera Coupe will be hovering around the $75,000 mark, closer to the Panamera pricing. What we expect will be a RS version of the Panamera that could make it into production too as competition with the S63 AMG Coupe.

Porsche Panamera Coupe Competition

It is crystal clear that the Mercedes-Benz S-Coupe will be a direct competition to the Panamera Coupe. Two Stuttgart based automakers competing in the same segment. Sooner or later other German makers and even Jaguar shall be entering this segment. As Mercedes-Benz is already locking horns with Porsche against the 911, Porsche will not want to miss out an opportunity to capture the S Coupe segment with its new products.
