Following the footsteps of NCR, NGT has ordered not to register any new diesel vehicle that has a capacity of more than 2000cc for Kerala. New Delhi was stated to be the most populated city in the world and hence NGT has taken some measures to curb pollution, which includes ban on registration of bigger diesel engine vehicles.

Only new government vehicles are given the allowance to be registered. Kerala will be banning entry of diesel vehicles older than 10 years, 30 days post 23rd May.

These measures are taken to reduce the pollution levels and keep the state clean for the tourists.

All the diesel vehicles that will be older than 10 years won’t be permitted to ply in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kochi, Kannur, Kozhikode and Thrissue.
