India’s Cheapest Fully Automatic SUV Is Here! 

Recently, Mahindra launched the most hyped SUV of 2024, the Mahindra XUV 3XO. It gets all new design, new interior, segment leading features and new transmission option. Initially it was speculated that the SUV will be priced at a premium but to our surprise, Mahindra has nailed the pricing. In fact, Mahindra has ditched the AMT option for its petrol variants which has been replaced by the new 6-speed torque converter gearbox! That said, with the aggressive pricing, the Mahindra XUV 3XO has become the cheapest SUV with a fully automatic gearbox!

Cheapest Automatic SUV – Price 

Talking about the pricing, the new Mahindra XUV 3XO has been priced between Rs 8.82 lakh to Rs 18.39 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). For automatic variants, the pricing starts at Rs 11.72 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), which is the cheapest automatic variant for any SUV. The next SUV with fully automatic option is the Maruti Brezza which has been priced at Rs 13.09 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Interestingly, the Maruti Brezza also gets the 6-speed torque converter unit which is the same Askin unit of the XUV 3XO.

Engine Specifications 

In terms of engine options, the XUV 3XO continues to get the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre TGDi & 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre turbo engine produces 109bhp & 200Nm of torque while the 1.2-litre TGDi produces, segment best 129bhp & 230Nm of torque. Both these engines are mated with manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox! That said, it is the regular 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which offers automatic transmission at the cheapest price in India.

Cheapest Automatic SUV – New Features 

Rest, Mahindra has gone crazy in terms of offering an exclusive equipment list. The new XUV 3XO comes with features like panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, & 10.25-inch touchscreen system. For safety, the SUV gets 6-Airbags, rear disc brakes, and most importantly, Level-2 ADAS system. In fact, it is the only SUV in the segment to offer an electronic parking brake with auto hold function. Also, the interior has been reworked extensively to offer luxury with soft touch dashboard and door pads. Overall, the interior is complemented by bright colour interior theme.
