Generally, all publications cover the goody-goody parts of the industry. But we are diving into the dark side by bringing the list of worst car brands in 2024. This list is compiled by Consumer Reports (CR), a non-profit member organisation that evaluates each brand through vehicle test scores, reliability data, owner satisfaction and safety. Though this list caters more to the American market, the top 3 manufacturers in this list also cater to the Indian market.

5. Rivian

Rivian R1S

Starting off the list with the youngest EV brand, Rivian. The company launched its R1S and R1T, both of which received praise for their performance. However, Rivian took a major hit in owner surveys with concerns raised about its reliability. A lot of its owners faced major issues within the first few weeks of ownership. One member of the consumer report even stated that his R1T was unresponsive just three weeks after delivery.

Worst car brands 2024 – 1. Jeep

Worst car brands 2024

The top spot in this unceremonious list is taken up by Jeep. It got an overall score of 46 out of 100 points. Jeep took a major hit in the reliability ratings in consumer reports analysis. The situation is not too different in India as our test Meridian car had too many fit and finish issues. Jeep should buckle up in this aspect if it wants to increase its sales in India.
