We expect Volkswagen to bring the top-spec all-wheel drive variant capable of producing 295bhp to India. This all-wheel drive variant is capable of doing the 0-100kmph sprint in just 5.4 seconds making it the fastest VW car in the country. Globally, there is also a rear-wheel drive variant that is capable of producing 201bhp. The range varies from 480km to 520km (WLTP cycle), depending on the motor layout.
The ID.4 is based on the brand’s MEB platform which also underpins the Skoda Enyaq iV. Talking about the design, the ID.4 comes with a cross-over design. In the front, we have pearl-shaped LED headlamps with a closed-off grille and connected DRLs. The side profile is clean with no major undulations. At the rear, we have Taigun-like connected tail lamps with a blacked-out exterior.

Like other electric cars, the ID.4 comes with a good amount of features. It comes with features like a 10.0-inch floating infotainment system, front massage seats, ambient lighting, connected car technology and voice control. What about the safety features? In that, we have 6 airbags, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitor and travel assist.
Recently, Volkswagen unveiled the ID.4 in India and stated that it plans to launch the car in the country by the end of this year. What about the pricing? The ID.4 should be priced around the Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai). This will make it the most expensive Volkswagen car in the brand’s current lineup.
