The Kia Seltos is quite popular in the compact SUV segment. It is the only car that has managed to give its sister car the Hyundai Creta a run for its money. Now with the EV trend picking up, the Creta is going to get its electric version. We think Kia could soon follow it with an electric version of Seltos. This Kia Seltos could face a new rival even ahead of launch. Which car are we talking about? It is the Vinfast e-34.

Launch

Vinfast e-34

In February 2024, the brand started the construction of its factory in India. With the new EV policy in place, Vinfast is looking to import some of its cars to India before it starts local production. This will help Vinfast gauge the response for its cars in India. The first car coming to India could be the VF e-34 crossover. Dimension-wise, the e-34 measures 4,300mm in length, 1,793mm in width and 1,613mm in height. These dimensions put it squarely in the electric compact SUV space. Currently, this is non-existent, but soon we could see Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, Maruti eVX and also Kia Seltos EV here. Globally, the VF e-34 at USD 30,000 (INR 24 lakh). It could be fair pricing as we expect the upcoming eVX and Hyundai Creta EV to be priced similarly.

Vinfast e-34 – Specifications

The VF e-34 comes with a 147hp motor that also produces 242Nm of torque. It comes with a 42kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 318.6km and sits on 18-inch wheels. Globally Vinfast offers a 10-year warranty on the e-34 crossover. Talking about charging options, 15 minutes of fast charging can give it a travel distance of 180km.
