In today’s story, we will look at 3 more used luxury car models that are known for their reliable performance and are under Rs 15 lakh.

Used Luxury Car: Volvo S60

Year: 2012-2017
Price: Rs 6 lakh to Rs 15 lakh

The first car on this list is the Volvo S60, one of the sportiest sedan models to ever grace the Indian luxury sedan segment. This was Volvo car’s third product in the Indian market and known for its advanced safety and stylish design.

On the outside, the car has a rakish stance with a long bonnet and short boot. Up front, the car features the signature Volvo grille from back in the time along with a sculpted bumper and swept-back headlamps. Moving to the sides, the seven-spoke turbine-like 18-inch alloy wheel fills the wheel arching enhancing the sporty appeal. While the sculpted rear fender and flowing coupe-like roof add some muscular character to the vehicle. At the rear, the inverted L-shaped wrap-around along with the steeply raked windscreen and silver skid plate/ faux diffuser complete the overall look of the car.

Despite its age, the Volvo S60 comes equipped with a functional cabin featuring a multi-layer dashboard. The centrepiece of the cabin is the new 7-inch ‘Sensus’ infotainment unit with an 8-speaker premium audio system. The front and rear seats of the S60 are large and comfortable, offering excellent support on long journeys. Other key features include dual-zone AC, an electric sunroof, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat and an optional rear seat package. Safety equipment on offer includes up to 6 airbags, ABS, laser-assisted auto braking, pedestrian detection technology, adaptive cruise control, lane departure control, traction and advanced stability control, emergency brake assist, cornering torque control, front parking camera with 178-degree assist, and India’s first Blind Lane Information System (BLIS).

One of the sportiest cars in 2012, this generation Volvo S60 petrol variant comes powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine producing 304 bhp and 440 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine is a 2.4-litre twin-turbo five-cylinder unit rated for 205 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission while the petrol offers a full-time AWD system. Additionally, all models come equipped with Volvo’s four-C active chassis setup, which has been modified and refined for better control and a more comfortable feel compared to previous Volvos.

Used examples of the Volvo S60 from 2012 and later are available priced between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.

Used Luxury Car: Mercedes Benz E-Class

Year: 2013-2015
Price: Rs 7.25 lakh to Rs 15 lakh

What is a luxury car list without a Mercedes Benz model, right? Rated 5/5 in the J.D.Power reliability rating, the 2013 Mercedes Benz E-Class is the most reliable used luxury car in India. Facelifted in 2013, this model of the E-Class offers a modern imposing design with a high-tech interior.

Popular as the jack of all trades & master of some, this generation E-Class offers an aggressive exterior design. Up front, the long drooping bonnet with sporty bumper and swept-back LED headlamp add to the flair of this luxury sedan. The overall design has become more aerodynamic with a strong shoulder line and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the conservative rear wrap-around tail lamp along with the new chrome-tipped twin exhaust complete the overall look of the car.

Despite being over a decade old, the 2013 Mercedes E-Class cabin comes with a nappa leather upholstery and an updated cabin. Key equipment on offer includes an updated COMAND infotainment unit with satellite navigation, a multi-zone climate control system, a multi-functional steering wheel with paddle shifter, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats with memory, ambient lighting and a rearview camera. The seats of the E-Class offer excellent comfort and the length of the car maximises legroom for rear seat passengers making it a perfect option in the used car market.

Currently, a 2013 and later model of the Mercedes E-Class is on sale in the used car market priced between Rs 7.25 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

In addition to these cars, customers can also look at the Honda Accord executive sedan from 2012/2013 which is currently on sale in the used car market priced between Rs 5-lakh and Rs 7-lakh. This generation model was offered with a new infotainment system with telephony and Bluetooth connectivity. The biggest addition to the new model was the updated 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that produced 271 bhp along with the familiar 2.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine.
