Spy shot

New Skoda SUV

In the spy shot, we can see the heavily camouflaged car. How do we know this is a Skoda car? Skoda test cars generally have MH14 registration as they are based in Chakan, Pune. On the test car, we can see wrap-around tail lights, roof rails (non-functional) and a spoiler-mounted brake light. Sadly, not much else can be figured out from this set of spy shots.

New Skoda SUV – What else do we know?

At its event, Skoda released a teaser image of this new SUV. In this, we could see an eye-brow LED design and a sculpted bonnet. The SUV will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform like its bigger siblings. Powering the compact SUV will be the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine capable of producing 113bhp and 178Nm of torque. Transmission options should include a 6-speed manual and Automatic gearbox. Feature-wise, it is expected to come with an electric sunroof, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting and more.

Launch timeline

New Skoda SUV

Skoda has confirmed that it plans to launch the compact SUV by March 2025. With the test car spotted, Skoda seems to be on track for this launch timeline. What about the pricing? Skoda knows that it will need to price the SUV competitively in this fierce segment. We expect the Skoda SUV to be priced between Rs 10 to 15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
