Renault Cars is expected to make a grand comeback in the Indian market with all-new products starting in 2025. The first new SUV will be the return of the Renault Duster nameplate along with a larger Duster 7-seater version. Both products will offer refreshed design, advanced features and safety.

While we have already seen the Duster in the flesh, a fresh spy shot of the SUV testing internationally reveals the design of the upcoming Renault Duster 7-seater. Expected to make its global debut before the end of the year, the new 7-seater model will rival the likes of the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and more. Here is everything the spy pictures reveal.

Renault Duster 7-Seater: Design & Dimension

Renault Bigster testing

Known as the Dacia Bigster concept internationally, the new SUV in essence is a stretched version of the recently unveiled Renault Duster. Underpinned by the CMF-B platform, the upcoming four-wheeler will share body panels and dashboard design with the smaller SUV but offer a more premium appeal with upmarket materials, technology and equipment. The new SUV will come equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a large panoramic sunroof, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a new digital instrument cluster. Also on offer will be ADAS with more than 10 autonomous features.

Despite the similarities, the Duster 7-seater will measure 4.6 metres in length, 300mm longer than the new Duster. The wheelbase of the SUV has also been altered to help liberate more space on the inside to accommodate three rows of seats, while the rear door has been enlarged for easy ingress and egress.

Renault Duster 7-Seater: Powertrain

Renault Bigster interior

While Renault India has not confirmed the powertrain options for the Duster, we expect the new SUV to come powered by the same engines as the international models. The first engine option is a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid mated to an automatic transmission and two electric motors. This engine can drive in pure electric mode for up to 80 percent of the time in city traffic. The next option is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit with mild hybrid tech. This engine produces 130 bhp of peak power and comes mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission option.

In addition, the Duster 7-seater (Bigster) will get off-road gear including a selectable AWD system with multi-terrain mode (Auto, Snow, Sand, Off-Road and Eco).
