Hyundai’s plan

Hyundai Venue EV

As stated above, Hyundai is currently testing the Creta EV. According to reports, the EV will be based on an existing Creta platform. This is the same platform that also underpins the Venue. Considering the popularity of Nexon EV, it does make sense for Hyundai to make an EV of the Venue. Due to part sharing, Hyundai can even price the EV aggressively against the competition.

Expected changes

The Venue EV could get a reworked exterior design. With the Creta EV already coming, don’t expect any dimension changes on the Venue EV. It is hard to guess the specifications, but we will get more clarity on this aspect after the launch of the Creta EV. Ideally, Hyundai should offer at least 300 km of real-world range. Being a Hyundai, we can expect it to be loaded with features to take on the competition.

The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to be launched by the end of 2024. After that, we could see Hyundai explore the option of Venue EV. This means we could see a launch sometime in 2025 or 2026. What about the pricing? We can expect pricing in the vicinity of Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
