Hyundai’s only 7-seater in the Indian market, the Alcazar is due for a major upgrade. The Alcazar gets overshadowed in the fiercely competed mid-size SUV 7-seater segment. With updates to Safari and XUV700 the competition has just gotten stiffer. To counter this, Hyundai is also working on the Alcazar facelift, and it has been spotted testing. In today’s article, let’s talk about the New Hyundai 7-seater.

Spotted testing

New Hyundai 7-seater

The test mule of the Alcazar facelift seems to have carried some design elements from the Creta facelift. At the rear, we can see the rectangular-shaped tail lamps. They could also come with a connected setup like the Creta facelift. We can also spot new alloy wheels, which look quite modern and sporty. Sadly, we don’t get to see the front design, but we can expect a Creta facelift like a big grille and connected DRLs.

New Hyundai 7-seater – Other expected changes

The interior of the Alcazar facelift is expected to get some new subtle changes. We could see the floating twin display setup, heads-up display, memory function, etc. Another major change will be the introduction of level-2 ADAS similar to the Creta. Hopefully, Hyundai also improves the safety of Alcazar on the back of its tall safety claims with the Exter.

Specifications

Being a facelift, we don’t expect any major changes in the specifications. The Alcazar currently comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. Transmission duties will continue to be handled by a manual and a DCT gearbox. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options of manual and automatic should continue.
