The Duster started the popular compact SUV segment way back in  2012. Sadly, Renault couldn’t keep up with the demands of the competition, and the Duster got outdated quickly. Now to rectify that mistake, Renault is going to bring the all-new Duster to India. Along with the Duster, it is also going to bring a 7-seater SUV based on the Duster. Without wasting any more time, let’s talk about the Renault Duster 7-seater.

Renault is planning to bring the Duster to India in 2025. After that, it has plans to bring a 7-seater version of the Duster based on the Bigster concept. Like the new Duster, the 7-seater model is also expected to be based on the CMF-B platform. The new Duster is 4,360mm in length, we expect the Duster 7-seater to be 4,500mm to 4,600mm in length.

Renault Duster 7-seater – What to expect?

It is too early to speculate about the design, but we can expect a rugged design language like the Duster. We can expect LED headlamps, LED DRLs and rugged bumpers upfront. Other exterior highlights like large squared wheel arches, roof rails and spoilers could continue on the 7-seater. The interiors could also come loaded with features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ADAS, 10-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, three-spoke steering etc.

Specifications

The Dacia Duster comes with three engine options – a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, a 1.3-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.2-litre plug-in hybrid engine. Considering the dimensions of the 7-seater, the 1.3-litre turbo petrol could be a great choice. This engine is capable of producing 168bhp of power. The other option could be the 1.2-litre hybrid engine which will produce 140bhp with the help of a 9kWh battery pack. It will be a plug-in hybrid technology, and if Renault brings this in India then it might be a big hit for the company.

Renault Duster 7-seater – Launch

Recently, Renault’s sister company, Dacia unveiled the new Duster. Even though the car has been unveiled, its India launch is still a fair bit away. According to reports, Renault is going to launch the Duster by Diwali 2025. So the 7-seater can only be expected in 2026. We hope that Renault fast-forwards the process as this 2026 timeline doesn’t look that promising for prospective customers. It’s too early to predict the pricing, but we can expect a starting price near the Rs 25 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai).

  • The duster will undoubtedly be an awesome SUV. But if we are talking 7 seaters then nothing could beat their Triber. I own one and love it for its all car no snob appeal. Reno’s new 1.2 mild hybrid mill in NA form mated to a CVT powering a Triber will make an awesome MPV.
