Tata Tiago

Tata Motors have witnessed the most success in the EV market in India and were aggressive with their strategy. And that  can be seen with the Tiago EV. With the Tiago EV their aim was to offer an affordable EV to the masses. Just like the Nexon EV and Tigor EV, Tiago EV is based on the ICE variants of the Tiago. It is the Gen-1 platform of the Tata Motors as they swapped the engines and other mechanicals with a battery pack and electric motors. In terms of design the Tiago EV is identical to the ICE Tiago. The only way to differentiate them is that Tiago EV gets a few EV specific blue inserts on the exterior. Also, it gets EV badging on the front grille along with a blue strip below the grille. The story continues for the interior as well. It is the regular Tiago and so it continues to get a dual tone dashboard with some blue inserts on the seats and around AC vents and instrument cluster. It gets features like leatherette upholstery, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

The main differentiation however is made to the battery pack. The Tigor EV gets a 26kWh battery pack which is slightly larger than the Tiago EV. It generates 74bhp and 170Nm of torque and comes with a claimed range of 306kms. With a regular 15A charging point, you can charge the Tata Tigor from 0 to 80% in 8 hours and 45 minutes.
