India-bound 2024 Tesla Model 3 Unveiled

The American brand Tesla has revealed the facelift of the brand’s one of the best selling cars, the Model 3. It is the same sedan that Tesla might debut with in the Indian market. Improving the Model 3, Tesla claims that they have refreshed more than 50 percent of the car’s components based on the customer feedback. The majority changes have been made with refinement and passenger comfort being the prime focus. So what are those changes? Let’s find out in today’s article of 2024 Tesla Model 3.

Tesla Model 3 – Exterior

Tesla Model 3 has received a major overhaul on the front end. It gets a new headlamp setup and tweaks in the front bumpers. The changes will result in lower wind noise and a boost in the overall range. Even the fog lamps are eliminated while a new air curtain is installed on the bumpers. It has resulted in a lower drag coefficient of 0.219 which is less than the already impressive 0.23 drag coefficient.

Other visual changes include new wheel design and new set of C-shaped tail lamps. The new wheels not just add aesthetics but are also responsible for a better ride quality. Tesla has introduced an aero-optimised wheel design which is 5 percent more slippery. The improved tyre sidewalls for the 18-inch or 19-inch wheels takes care of the ride quality while reducing the road noise. 

Other than that the car now comes with double-glazed acoustic windows, a new suspension setup and rubber seals.

Overall Tesla says it is staying true to the sleek, uncluttered design aesthetics of the Model 3.

Interiors & Features

The interiors of the Model 3 are also refreshed for the facelift and has continued with their minimalist design approach. It gets a brighter and responsive 15.4-Inch touchscreen with slimmer bezels. It even gets a redesigned stock-less steering wheel. The indicators will now be operated with buttons integrated on the steering wheel while the drive selector is now touch-based.

For the centre console, Tesla has made use of real aluminium to give a more upmarket feel to the cabin. Overall Tesla has also updated interiors with more upmarket upholstery. The rear passengers also get a new 8-inch touchscreen for AC and infotainment functionalities.  

Safety

Along with comfort and convenience, Tesla has also made improvements on the safety fronts. The brand has structurally reinforced the front and rear doors to withstand heavier impacts. It has been done to keep the passengers safe if there is a collision with an SUV.

Tesla Model 3 – Improved Range 

The 2024 Tesla Model 3 will see 5% to 8% increase in range depending on which variant you choose. The estimated WLTP-certified range of the standard RWD variant has gone up from 491km to 554km. While the certified range of the Long Range variant has gone up from 634km to 677km. The charging speed however is the same as before. The standard variant has capacity of 170kW while the Long Range variant has capacity of 250kW
