Mahindra’s new pickup truck teased!

Mahindra has made its name in the SUV space with cars like the XUV700 and Scorpio-N. However, now it wants to expand into other related segments. It has plans to bring coupe SUVs and also some eSUVs. Now another segment Mahindra could target is the pickup segment. Though not popular in India, globally they are quite a rage. To target this craze Mahindra has released the first teaser of its mid-size pickup. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Mahindra pickup.

What has been teased?

Mahindra has posted the first teaser of its new pickup truck. It starts with the explore word hinting that it could be a hardcore off-roader. Then we can see some elements like rectangular tail lamps, blacked-out alloy wheels, a copper side step and an almost closed-off grille with a big Mahindra logo jutting out of it. Then we see a glimpse of the pickup truck in which we can see a electric sunroof. In the end, we have the unveiling date as 15th August 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa. Considering Mahindra is unveiling it outside India, it sure seems to be a global product. 

New Mahindra pickup – What could it be?

The teaser didn’t state much that if it is an EV or ICE. It mostly seems to be ICE pickup based on the Thar platform. It could come with Mahindra’s tried & tested 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. Could it be an EV? There is definitely an outside chance that this could be an EV. Mahindra has shown its EV ambitions with the Born Electric Cars.
