Tata Safari facelift interiors to get a major upgrade!
The Safari nameplate holds a lot of significance for the Tata brand. It did receive a lot of criticism for using the nameplate on the 7-seater version of Harrier. However, sales-wise, this generation of Safari is selling in healthy numbers. Now Tata is readying a facelift for the Safari. The spy shots were posted by Rushalne. As soon as you enter the interiors, you can see Tata has tried to improve the premium quotient of the Safari. We have a big floating infotainment system in the middle. This seems to be a 12-inch unit. Then we have the two-spoke steering wheel with the mysterious black element in the middle. The HVAC controls have been moved to a touch-sensitive model.
Exterior changes
The exterior of the Safari facelift is expected to get some design changes. We could see a bigger grille with eyebrow DRLs. Headlamps could get a lower placement. The side profile will be more or less similar barring the alloy wheel design. At the rear, we could see new tail lamps and a slightly elongated spoiler.
Specifications
The Safari facelift is rumoured to come with the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine Tata showcased at the Auto Expo. This engine is capable of producing 165bhp and 280Nm of torque. Still, this engine could debut later on the Curvv. The diesel 2.0-litre unit will continue on the facelift. Both engines should come with manual and automatic gearboxes.

In the last few months, the Safari facelift is being regularly spotted testing. According to reports, Tata plans to commence production of the Safari facelift by September or October. So the launch will happen before the end of this year. Pricing-wise, it could be Rs 60k to 80k more expensive than the current top model pricing.
