Maruti cars are known for their high fuel efficiency and reliability. One thing they are not particularly known for is good safety. However, in the last few years, people have talking about safety. So Maruti has been saying that they have improved safety on their new launches. But is it true? Is the Maruti Fronx safe? In today’s article, let’s talk about Maruti Fronx safety.

Maruti Fronx Safety

The Fronx is not yet tested by GNCAP and surprisingly even the Baleno is not yet tested by GNCAP. The Baleno was tested by Latin NCAP in 2021 and scored a 0-star there. However, Latin NCAP norms are a bit stricter than GNCAP. Platform-wise, the Fronx is based on the Heartect platform. This platform doesn’t have a good record at GNCAP with 0 to 2 stars in most cases. Now Maruti has stated that it has improved safety on the Baleno. However, we can’t be sure till the car is tested. The saving grace for Fronx is that it comes with ESP from its base model which is needed for a 5-star crash test rating in the newer GNCAP protocols.

What rating do you think the Fronx will achieve? Do let us know in the comments.

Fronx as a product

The Fronx has started quite well for Maruti. In June, Maruti sold 7,991 units of the Fronx. For a Maruti product, this is decent, but for such a cross-over these are good numbers. What are the strong points of the Fronx? The design and its 1.0-litre turbo petrol are its strong points. Also, it comes with features like a  9.0-inch infotainment, ARKAMYs sound system, heads-up display, 360-degree camera, six airbags etc.

Maruti’s plan

Maruti recently wrapped up the launch of the Invicto. Nevertheless, it still has a sleeve of products. According to rumours, Maruti is working on a 7-seater Grand Vitara. Other upcoming products include new-gen Swift and new-gen Dzire. After that, we could see Maruti’s first EV in the form of the production version of eVX. We hope that Maruti works on the safety of all these products before they are launched.
