7-seater cars have always been popular in the country. In the last few years, a lot of new 7-seaters have been launched from the Carens to Invicto. In all these, people are forgetting about the most affordable 7-seater in the country. Can you guess it? It is the Renault Triber. Even though it is the most affordable option, its sales are not that good. So what can Renault do? It needs to bring a facelift to the Triber. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2023 Renault Triber.

Better performance

2023 Renault Triber

The Triber’s biggest weakness has to be its underpowered engine. The Triber comes with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. Funnily enough, this engine also powers the Kwid. It feels adequate on normal roads, but on gradients and with 7 seats occupied, it struggles a lot. What can Renault do to fix this? It can offer the 1.0-litre turbo petrol from the Kiger. This engine gets a massive power hike with 99bhp & 160Nm of torque. Renault could go one step above by offering a CVT gearbox.

What else could change?

If Renault is bringing the new engine, it might as well offer a facelift to the Triber. In the facelift, we could see a new exterior design and new wheels. Another thing the brand could do is offer new colour options. In the interiors, we could see new upholstery and a tweaked dashboard layout. Being an entry-level car, we don’t expect many new features. Still, Renault could add ambient lighting and wireless charging.

2023 Renault Triber – Launch & pricing

2023 Renault Triber

Renault has been quite tightlipped about any of its launches in India. The Triber last got an update in 2019, so a 4-year facelift cycle makes sense for Renault. Hopefully, Renault will introduce the facelift by the end of this year or early next year. What about the price hike? Renault could introduce turbo petrol on the higher variants to keep the costs in check on the lower variants.
