Citroen’s next car to be very unique!

Citroen is the newest kid on the bloke in the Indian market. Still, in its short time, it has already a product lineup bigger than some established players. It has not shied away from launching cars in unique segments. Currently, it has a premium hatch, EVs and full-size SUVs in its ranks. It has also unveiled the C3 Aircross, its C-SUV candidate. After that, Citroen is going to dive into the sedan segment. In today’s article, let’s talk about Citroen C3X India.

Spy shots

In the spy video, we can see a camouflaged XUV700 car leading two other test mules. This would lead to all the test mules belonging to Mahindra. However, the next car’s design has a close resemblance to Citroen cars. We can see the grille and also the square-shaped headlamps. Rest of the car doesn’t have anything special until we come to the rear. At the rear, we have a boxy camouflage to hide the coupe elements.

Citroen C3X India

According to reports, Citroen is working on a fastback-styled sedan that could be called the C3X. Citroen already sells the C3X outside India, but the model coming here will be an India-specific one. The C3X will not be a traditional sedan but rather come with a coupe-like rear design. Length-wise, it will be 4.3 metres in length and the front design could be inspired by the C3 hatchback. 

Specifications

The C3X will be based on the CMP modular platform like its other C3 derivatives. In terms of engines, Citroen is quite limited in this aspect in India. It can only use the 1.2-litre turbo petrol on the C3X. This engine is capable of producing 108bhp and 190Nm of torque. Transmission options should include a manual and an automatic gearbox option. The C3X could also come with an electric variant in the future. 

Citroen C3X India – Launch timeline 

Citroen has stated that it plans to launch at least one new model every year. This year it has already unveiled the C3 Aircross, and the brand is soon going to launch the car. Citroen is rumoured to bring an EV version of the C3 Aircross. So the C3X could be launched in mid-2024 and its EV version could be launched a few months after that.
