Maruti is often perceived as a cheap or affordable car manufacturer in India. People judge someone if he spends over 20 lakhs on a Maruti car. Till now, Maruti hasn’t given much thought to it, but as the market matures, it needs to improve its image. So Maruti is rebadging the Innova HyCross, but how will it be priced? Will it be cheaper than the HyCross or the other way around? In today’s article, let’s talk about Maruti Invicto price.

Pricing

Jumping straight to pricing, Maruti is buying the Innova HyCross from Toyota. It will be similar to what Toyota does with the Glanza. So considering Maruti will get the Innova HyCross at the ex-showroom price, it will have to bump up the cost to recover costs. We expect Maruti to bump up cost by 40k to 50k across variants compared to the HyCross. If Maruti is ambitious, it could sell the non-hybrid variants cheaper than the HyCross, but that is highly unlikely. We expect the Invicto price to range from Rs 22.70 lakh to almost 37 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti Invicto price – What could change?

The Invicto could get some design changes compared to the HyCross. We could see a different front grille similar to the Grand Vitara. On the side, we could see a new alloy wheel design. Other than that, we could see some minor tweaks on the headlamp and tail lamp. While on the inside, we can only expect a change in the overall colour theme of the interiors.

What remains the same?

The HyCross will retain most of the features of the Innova HyCross. We could see ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, 8-way powered drive seats etc. According to reports, it could miss out on ADAS and some fancy features. Both 2.0-litre non-hybrid and 2.0-litre strong hybrid could make their way to the Invicto.

Maruti will be launching the Innova HyCross shortly. It will be sold through brands Nexa dealerships, being the most premium model in the brand’s portfolio. So, with a waiting period of 21 to 23 months on the Hycross hybrid variants, will you wait for the Toyota, or will you rather go for Maruti’s iteration?
