Maruti Jimny to get this safety feature in Australia!

After years of waiting, Maruti finally launched the Jimny in India. Maruti stated that it delayed the launch as it wanted to launch the 5-door Thar in the country. The 5-door variant offers better practicality which is an important aspect. Now Suzuki is going to launch the Jimny 5-door in other markets where it already sells the 3-door version. One such market is the Australian one. According to reports, the Australian version is going to come with ADAS. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Maruti Jimny ADAS.  

ADAS

Suzuki already sells the Jimny 3-door in Australia. This 3-door version comes with ADAS capabilities that include lane departure warning, high beam assist, and autonomous emergency braking. So it makes sense that the 5-door version also gets ADAS in Australia. We expect the Australian version to only get ADAS extra, while the rest of the features, like the 7.0-inch infotainment system, 6-airbags, ARKAMY sound system etc., continue on this version.

Why not in India?

So why is this partiality for India? In India, features like ADAS are still in the infant stage. Yes, more & more cars are getting ADAS, but still, it is not feasible for an SUV like Jimny. Also, the Jimny is already being criticised for being over-priced, and ADAS would have shot up the price drastically. Maybe in the future update or facelift, Maruti could add ADAS on the Indian version.

Maruti Jimny ADAS in Australia

Suzuki is currently readying the launch of the Jimny 5-door, and the launch is expected by the end of this year. However, deliveries of the car will only begin early next year. Without even revealing the specs or features, Suzuki has already garnered 100 bookings for the Jimny 5-door, which shows the popularity of Jimny in Australia. The Jimny 5-door is expected to be priced at around 30,000 Australian dollars (Approx 16.5 lakhs INR).
