Tata Punch is coming hard with its CNG technology. At the Auto Expo, it showcased its revolutionary twin-cylinder technology. Now Tata is reportedly looking to patent it and bring it on more of its cars. The Altroz with this setup has been already launched and now the next car to get this tech is the Punch. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2023 Tata Punch CNG.

Twin-cylinder technology

Tata is going hard with its Twin Cylinder technology. In this technology, Tata has divided the one big cylinder into two parts and has fitted them below the boot. With this technique, the boot space gets useable to a larger extent. The spare tyre is placed under the boot, similar to some of the 7-seater SUVs. This technology solves the biggest problem of CNG cars, which is boot space. The Altroz i-CNG comes with 210 litres of boot space and we can expect more boot space in the Tata Punch i-CNG.

Design

2023 Punch CNG

The overall design of the Punch i-CNG will not change much from the regular petrol model. At the front, we have the mini Harrier design with eyebrow DRLs with headlamps placed below them. We don’t expect any changes to this look, barring maybe an i-CNG badge. Overall only the i-CNG badging will be different in this variant. Tata maybe could give a CNG-specific colour on the Punch i-CNG.

2023 Tata Punch CNG – Specifications

The Punch i-CNG continues with the Alfa-Arch platform. The i-CNG setup on the Punch comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. The i-CNG only comes with a manual gearbox option.
